• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Can any one point out this?

Someone posted a few months back a screw-in retaining system to keep the RT body panels in place. I lost my right side panel yesterday, and this is after I glued the grommets in place.

Thanks in advance!

If all the grommets are in place and the panel still came off I will take a wild guess. The one inch wide clip at the front of the panel needs to be over the leading edge of the mesh screen. This keeps the wind from peeling the panel off. Getting the clip over the mesh edge takes an effort because the mesh has to be pushed out enough for the clip to engage.

Good point! Is there a warranty issue hiding in here somewhere? If they have a poor design, shouldn't they be held responsible for that as much as they would be for a poor execution of a good design??? :dontknow:

I glued my grommets in and they haven't moved. Problem on the front right side for me is the peg on the tupperware doesn't stay in all the way and the panel gaps

Has anyone tried to secure the lower edge of the panel with a Dzus type fitting ?

Normally, and remember I said normally, the panels stay in place just fine. Problems I have seen is when owners or shops remove the panel and do not get them back on right, or they push the grommets out of place.
Its not a design flaw, motorcycles have been doing this for years.

This is the right side... ;)no mesh there. I will get me one later...

Is BRP paying for this fix as well as panels blowing off in the wind?

Not really... They will for sure say that I am in fault for not placing it right.:cus:

:nopic: Provide pics with the fittings installed, please!

Sorry for my misunderstanding in my first reply. I hope you are able to get a new panel, and then figure something out on how not to lose it again. I can only imagine how frustrating that must be.

Thanks for your help spyderlovers

You are truly a big help...

What I am looking for was a screw+nut tightning system inserted from the inside of the body panel to keep it in place. I know I saw it before but never gave interest until now and the search is really not a help since the key words narrow a loooooooooong search.

Please...:helpsmilie:

Went out and checked mine...yep...there is a mesh, same as on left side. If you don't have one for the front clip of the panel to attach to, someone goofed at production.
