• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hey Deb,
Well I called Kathy at Cedars Motel and tried to reserve a room for Joan and I for the UP trip. She remember us from three years ago and is more than willing help us book the rooms. As I was talking to her she informed that she hadn't talked with you. That's when I noticed the post was from 2008:hun:. Anyway I have a room reserved, all I have to do is confirm the dates. So Joan and I are in....whenever the dates are set.
Bob

Bob, I saw that in the MI forum, that is great. Yup plan on staying at the Cedars again. I hope to have some dates to choose from soon. This will make me hurry up and firm up the plans.

UP Ride

:2excited:Hope to be moving to Muskegon MI this summer and am looking forward to riding Michigan. I'm coming from Arkansas and our great Ozark roads. will miss the hills and mountains, but will enjoy being closer to family.

Welcome to MI, you will find on the west side of the state and further north you will have some breathtaking rides. It will be completely different than the Ozarks and no where near the twisties, but beautiful though. Keep your eyes on the MI forums for a variety of rides to take place. Look forward to meeting you one day.

The West Michigan lakeshore has some of my favorite scenic roads. Try Scenic Drive from Muskegon to Whitehall. It is a gem!

Just talked with Kathy and reserved a room for Cindi and myself...She told me that we're the 5th room reserved as of this morning and they have 6 rooms left.

Cool, that sounds great. I will try to keep a list on the thread in the MI forum. I wonder who else has confirmed rooms so far. Also if they sell out, there is a motel right next door that Kathy says is nice too. It is called Northern Air I think.

I am told there are 5 rooms left at the Cedars Motel. As the Cedars books up, Kathy, the owner of The Cedars suggested the motel right next door NorthernAire I do not know what their rates are or anything about them personally but I can't imagine Kathy recommending anything that would reflect bad on her. And it is right next door so we would all be together.

Hey Everyone, I just received an email from Kathy at the Cedars Motel, they only have 3 rooms left for our weekend. If you try to get a room and it is booked, the NorthernAire as mentioned above has 3 cabins available with a 1 Queen bed each for $65.00 + tax per night. If we need still more, I will keep my eyes open for other local places that are close and hopefully every bit as accommodating. As I get updated info, I will post it.

I am updating the list of people in the MI thread as I learn who all has booked a room. I don't have everybody yet.

Hi Everyone,
Lamont has given us permission to use SpyderLovers.com shirts and personalize them for our trip. I have contacted Mark at CAT Specialties and told him of this idea. He will kind of mock something up for us but in order to keep the cost down, it can't involve a whole lot of extra. I have put together something that has popped into my head and I would like to share it with you and get an idea of how many people would want one of these shirts. It would be one of the SpyderLovers T-shirts that come in black or grey and have the SpyderLovers logo on the back. Then on the front left breast would be something like this:

Of course the SpyderLovers.com would match Lamont's font and I think I would like it curved or arched across the state. I would like the "3 Great Lakes in 3 Great Days, 2011" actually under the state symbol instead of on it. What does everyone think? Would you want to order one for the trip? Let me know and I will try to get some idea of costs posted too.
