• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Plastic removal frustration

The "O" ring did dampen the up/down movement a bit, but really didn't do too much to reduce the vibrations while moving. I guess this is something we'll just have to learn to live with. :dontknow:

Hey Dave,

What time can I come by so you can do mine too? :roflblack:

Your ryding bud...Jim
We'll see how the weather is next Monday evening, and maybe I'll meet you at Starbucks. Can't drink any coffee for a while yet, but we can chat.:2thumbs:

This is very confusing. The mirrors on my 2010 RTS were rock steady, every bit as good as my BMW. I'm wondering if you don't have something else going on there...maybe a tire balance issue, too stiff of suspension setting, etc. :dontknow:

I still have to dig out the manual and read the Tupperware removal procedures for a couple of days before even taking a single step towards the garage... But nothing is broke yet!!

Now i've jinxed myself... :yikes:

mirrors...

Scotty, mine don't vibrate to the point where I can't see, it's just that annoying little bit of movement that blurs the image of vehicles way behind me. Could it be partly these old eyes? :dontknow::yikes:

'O Crap Kit

Body screws
Plastic rivets
Oil change O-rings
Drain plugs
Brake light bulbs (RS)
Rubber grommets (RT)
Mirror inserts (although I have never broken one)
Touch-up paint (added 2/28/11)

What else?

Dehydrated fuel tablet...just add water? :joke:

Relays.

When I had my 600 mile checkup done by my private mechanic (ARRR), he discovered that the slotted plastic dohickeys on the top of the mirror were broken...both sides. Apparently whoever assembled my RT slammed the mirror in at all 3 securement points and not down and in. There were other issues as well but all minor. I'm not sure if the plastic is put on at the dealer or the plant but they did a messy job.

When one of you veterans strip your RT down could you do a video of the plastic removal ?Where is Silver Surfer - he promised !!!!

There is a bulletin from Can-Am explaining how to glue the rubber grommets in place. Does anyone have a copy or tell me where I can find it? My biggest frustration when reassembling the body panels is the grommets push through in a few places. I use dry silicone lubricant on the grommets, which helps, but is not a fix.

The rubber grommet service bulletin 2010-6 is linked on the home page(listed as 2010-7).

I tore my Spyder down this weekend to install my new Elka shocks. As expected I tore one of the rubber grommets that hold the panels together. I noticed that some of the grommets are round and others are oval. When I look at the illustrated parts breakdown, only one type of grommet p/n 750005156 is listed. Even that part is not available on the Can-Am website. I have the spare round grommets, but need the ovals. Does anyone have the correct p/n and know where I can order these?

A fellow spyder lover pointed me to this site where I order a pack for spares.
