• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hi I'm new to the forum and wondering if anyone has any comments on the Spyder Dealer in Spokane Washington?? I want a new RT S so bad I cant sleep at night. But I have learned over the years that a product is sometimes no better than the Dealer Service Department, particulary with a reletivaly new product.

welcome

:welcome: Although i don't know about them we may have a few people on here that may be helpful. What i can suggest is become aware of other dealers close by this way if you need warranty work done and you are not happy with yours then you have a back up plan. again welcome

:welcome:

Sorry, but I can't give any feedback about the dealer in question. But :agree:, having a good dealer is very important. Also, good deals can usually be found on the net (eBay) among others. But again, just cause you get a good deal on the byke itself, you're going to need good support to go along with it.

Tho, most issues that arise, can you be troubleshot right here on this forum:firstplace: it's a great resource for all of us.

I know what your talking about, the LUSTING after the machine. I have a daily thread that I post to & I think I talked about that very thing just yesterday. You may want to check it out, tho to be fair, if your not ready to make the purchase, you may NOT want to look at it, cause I freely admit, I'm addicted :helpsmilie: to my (Teddy's) RT-S :2thumbs:

:welcome: Wish i could help you, i don't know much about Washington, there are a few on the forum who do and can help you.
I did spend ten years one year in Tacoma.

There are two sides to the dealer - sales & service. The latter depends on the quality of the techs - go talk to them, see if they inspire confidence. See if the dealer is solid enough to be around for a while - other brands. You now have dealers in Boise, several in the Seattle area, Bend, and others that may be ever closer - so you can leverage the "entry price" a bit.

I bought my RS in Bend, while living in the Portland area, and had it serviced in Salem (which has since closed). I did this because the Bend dealer sold me the RS at the price I was willing to pay, while the Portland dealer would not.

I sold my RS, and purchased a RT S from a forum member, and had it shipped to Portland - using a local dealer an an intermediary - all went very smoothly.

Subsequent service at the Portland dealer has been very good, and I have no complaints.

Thanks everyone for your input, I know the dealer here has been in buisness for 30 some years, and that usually means something.

Spyders alot of fun. The number one thing you need to remember with it is....Wait it just turned 50 degrees out - I gotta go !

:welcome: to the forum. Longevity in the business and talking to the techs should be helpful in determining where to go. We usually hear about the really bad ones and the really good ones on the forum. Sometimes a search of the forum will help you with the information retrieval if you dont get enough input from current members answering your thread.

Some really great knowledge here on this forum and even greater minds. Learn all you can here and ask questions when necessary .... grass hopper. Only then, you may find your dealer's true worth when it comes to Spyder knowledge. They in turn will respect your knowledge and your ride.

:welcome: Hurry up and get on that RT-S! You'll love it. Let my wife drive mine three months ago and now we're a two-:spyder: family. (Kathy can't get enough ryding time. I'm retired, she's not...too bad, so sad!:D) Regarding service, should you ever need service in the Portland area, just had mine serviced at SK Northwest and they did a primo job. It's never cheap, but they do good dependable work.
