• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

High Idle RPM

I have talked to the dealer and they say no one has reported this.

Sometimes when I come to a full or partial stop and the Spyder (SE-5) down shifts to first gear it will stay at around 1450 RPM but if I let off the brake it will lurch forward and if I don't hit the brake again it will rev up to 3000 RPM and I can shift into second gear without touching the trottle.

I can feel it wanting to go when this happens and if I put it in neutral it tachs up to 2800 RPM to 3000 RPM and very slowly revs down to 1450 or so.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Nancy had a similar problem. Pretty much went away after the ECM was reflashed. Still idles high occasionally, after hot restarts, but only to about 2 grand, and it drops quickly.

Sometimes with mine as well.

I also have an intermittent fast idling problem with my 08 SM5. Finally calms down after sitting for 5 seconds or so, like while sitting at a stoplight but might be idling high by the next stoplight. Gotta love it!!!

Same here. I don't believe it's happened again since the very first DPS recall/ECM reflash.

When I first purchased my Spyder, it had an erratic idle, turned out to be a very small crack in one of the vacuum lines, for what its worth...
