• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT-S gets a favorable review from Cycle World

My dealer offered a "warrany/maintenace" option when I purchased. It is for 3 years and covers all regular maintenace, ie oil changes and 3,6,12 k checks and extends the warranty for one year. I got this for $2200 and from what I am hearing it is well worth it.

:agree:

From reading the above, I see the RT warranty is two years? Does this $2,200 cover everything, all scheduled service and problems for three years?

Check with your dealer. My program was from the dealership and nothing to do with BRP. It does cover everything from oil changes to scheduled maintenance. I am going to pay the difference between the oil they use and synthetic, but that is my choice.

It may be with time, BRP may decide to update the maintenance schedule. I had an '89 GL1500 that required the two timing belts be replace at 40k. I did it twice when at about 85k I mentioned it to my dealer. Turns out Honda had changed it some years after I bought mine to checking them every 100k instead of replacing every 40k...

Worth every penny you paid and then some. Had I known then what I do now, I would have done the same.

The only problem with buying a service agreement from the dealer is you need to make sure the dealer is still going to be in business for the next 3 years. Many people learned about this the hard way when the economy tanked. There is a version of the BEST warranty called BEST Plus that I believe will cover maintenance as well. Perhaps that is what the other poster has, but if not it may be worth looking into.

BEST Plus does not cover all maintenance. It covers the 600 mile service, plus one service call per year, as I recall.
