• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT 12v Pos Terminal near Battery

This is a picture of the (reachable) positive terminal next to the battery on my RT. I have seen mention several times to connect accessories to the actual battery terminal, instead of to this terminal, but with no clear reason why.
Can anyone explain just what this little module does, and why not to use it for 12v positive connections ?

The biggest reason to go back to the battery is actually the negative jumper post. It has a standard nut on the back, which is in an unreachable position. If you loosen the bolt, the nut loosens, then just spins. You will have to pull off the body panels, bend or make a special wrench, and hold your mouth just right to remedy the problem. It is easier to just go to the battery. In addition, it is virtually impossible to get the boot back over the positive terminal on the starter relay if you add a wire, unless you pass the wire through the boot before you attach the terminal. Big pain!!! The battery is much easier on an RS, and a safer bet on the RT.
