• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT manual on the iPad

I shot a little video of the RT manual on iBooks, it really is a great way to look up stuff. If you have a iPad, iPod, or iPhone you can drop a PDF into iBook and read it like this. :doorag:

Yep, the only way to go. I have all of my manuals for stuff like guns, electronics and of course the Spyder on mine for easy viewing.

Great idea. :2thumbs: I have my owner's manual for the RT and various other devices/toys on my laptop and on my Nook Color.

Where do you get the PDF version of the manual you showed on the iPad?

 One of the first things I did before the Chicago Owner's Event was to purchase a netbook, and load the shop manual and owner's guide. Having the information available on the road is invaluable, even if it is just a tool to help you talk intelligently to the technician. I'm not high tech enough to have a smart phone, so the netbook filled the niche.

Here's how I do it.

  • copy file from your CD/DVD to your hard drive
  • open itunes
  • look on the left for "Books" and click on it
  • fine the pdf file on your computer and drag it over to "Books"
  • plug your iPad into your computer and then sync your ipad to your computer

Lamont,

I have the latest iTunes on my Imac and it doesn't show "Books". What am I missing?

I checked again, I have an app. GoodReaderUSB in my downloads that I can use. I'm thinking iBooks is an app. that you have to purchase to be used with iTunes.

Go into iTunes/Edit/Preferences. Under the "General" tab yu will see Books in the Library section. Check that box and it should show in the sidebar.

For whatever reason, I had to download the free IBooks app and it now shows in ITunes in the index on the left.

Howdy,

Is there a PDF version of the RT Operator's Guide (not the shop manual)? I had one for my previous GS. I think it was on the DVD. I can't seem to find one for the RT.

Thanks,

David
