• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Trailer hitch rust & Pic. Test

RT-S PE#0180
Testing my procedure for posting a picture and thought it might be a good time to show a picture of a rusted trailer hitch I saw this summer at a BRP demo.

I'm not sure I understand the point of this post. The slight rust seen is not a crime. We don't know how long the hitch has been there, the mileage, or the conditions of use. With those Canadian plates the thing could have even seen a bit of salt.

In my opinion it is easy enough to get to the hitch parts to clean them regularly, or even touch them up. If that is insufficient, the hitch is easily removed for a more thorough refurbishing. None of it should take as long as changing the oil does.

My hitch was in place for five months and 5,000 miles, through all kinds of weather. It did not show any rust on the hitch, but some did show on the bolt...which was easily cleaned off. I'll agree that the finish on the hitch, or at least the bolt, could probably be better...but it really shouldn't pose a serious problem for anyone.

The picture didn't do justice to the live view. Believe me, it was rusty. Point of post was to test if I had learned proper method of resizing pictures for posting them. Seems like it worked. Of course I was forced to forget something in process of learning this. I hope it was "How to Shave":roflblack: but, I'm sure "She Who Knows Best" will point out what I've forgotten.
Now, I can pull the RT out in the cold and take pictures of the exhaust and carbon fiber work to post for everyone.
