• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Delay shift

Has anyone had this problem with the2010 with the paddle shift and is this something I should bring to the dealer to check out. Does not do it all the time but when it does really slams you.

Do you have any idea as to what cuases this? Mine works great, but I've had many just "a couple more than a few" times when the shift just didn't happen smoothly and POW!

I don't have an SE, but I do know that if you try to shift at too low an rpm, the Spyder can get "confused" for a moment. It will not shift unless the rpm in the next gear will be sufficient to prevent an immediate downshift again. If you are acccelerating past this point, there can be a delay while it "thinks".

Dealer Time

I had an intermittent delayed shift since my initial test ryde on my 2010 RTS SE5, & was incorrectly told by my salesman that I must have just pushed the shifter wrong & to give it a little time to get used to it. Well, after almost getting into 2 different accidents in only 9 days of ownership, into the shop it went.

It won't show up on BUDS & if it doesn't happen when the repair tech test rides it, good luck. Took me 3 different dealers & 78 days out of service to finally get it fixed. Mind you, this was at the beginning of the SE5 recall, so much of the wasted time was waiting on the backordered parts.

BUT, (at least in my experience) this is a separate issue apart from the recall.
The final remedy for mine was replacing the shift selinoid? Carlo from BRP is well aware of this issue from my experience & hopefully has shared this info with the BRP Service Techs so it doesn't take future owners so much down time for their Service Depts to figure out.

My servicing dealer is Middletown Cycle in Middletown (Franklin) Ohio & they are a very good dealer in my opinion. If you need more detailed info on the repair, let me know & I can call Aarron the Owner & get the exact repair details for you.

Hope this helps & good luck.
