• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Yay, Got my RT back today..

Apparently something unknown to me about the breaks on the RT caused my Limp error. I guess... I was told today that it went to limp mode due to me having my foot on the break with key on too long and the computer saw it as a problem. There was no other error in the system. So I learned something today. They also put my new swaybar on too.

:congrats: on getting your RT back. Others have reported the same issue. When ryding you need to keep your foot away from the brake until you are ready to use it. If you hover your foot over the brake pedal, there is a tendency to put pressure on it even though you may not realize it. This makes the ABS system think there is a problem like the brakes are locked up, and will trigger limp home mode.

Agenda

I know I saw an agenda somewhere but I can't find it. When do the festivities actually start? Right now I am scheduled to come in on the 28th. Thinking about coming in a day earlier. :chat:

Switched reservations from Wagon Wheel to Super 8 so I could use award points.

Confess, Brian, you just didn't want to to be grouped in with the Wagon Wheel wHOOLIGANS - or the Triple W's as they'll be referred to as stories of Spyderfest 2011 are recounted years from now.:hun:

:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack: www!!!!! Hooligans forever!!!! How proudly we will be waving the flag :2excited:

I want to be a hooligan. Cant really relate to to many rules although I am a responsible person and yes if anyone wants to have a couple cold ones AFTER the riding is over I am in. If your in just add a wink""

Considering the average age of a "hooligan", I suggest mandatory monitored ingestion of Metamucil and calcium tabs for them to prevent "blockage" and hip snappage. :roflblack:

Be careful Brad, this Huligan can still hurt you.....:D :joke:

Out and about today

Decided to head out for a short ride today. Even though the sky looked like it was to break open and drop a ton of water. I just wanted to ride. Got over to the electronics store i wanted to get too no rain. But on the way back it began to come down and got harder as i went along. I am most impressed how this RT handles on wet roads. I could tell some were slippery and the traction control would kick in at times. Impressive. The slipping would really only happen at stops where cars sit waiting for the light to change all the while dropping oil and what not on the road.

I feel better now that i got my ride fix in for the day :ohyea::clap::yes:

Actually, Doc and I have seen the official HULIGAN flag. It is being made here at a local flag company as we speak. Just look for Spyders sporting the flags and move over to the side of the road when they pass. Huligans have been known to pass on the wrong side, cross double yellow lines and tailgate. A yellow traffic light is just a challenge to make it thru before the light turns red. Speed limit signs....meerly a suggestion.
Tickets such as excessive display of power, improper passing, improper equipment or an occasional speeding one are worn proudly as signs of accomplishments.:roflblack::ohyea::thumbup::clap:

This is what I think it's going to be?

From Wikipedia - Your Educational Moment!

There are several theories about the origin of the word hooliganism. It may originate from the surname of a fictional rowdy Irish family in a song of the 1890s.

Clarence Rooks, in his 1899 book, Hooligan Nights, claimed that the word came from Patrick Hoolihan (or Hooligan), an Irish bouncer and thief who lived in the London borough of Southwark.

Another writer, Earnest Weekley, wrote in his 1912 book Romance of Words, "The original hooligans were a spirited Irish family of that name whose proceedings enlivened the drab monotony of life in Southwark, 1890's. This is what I think there thinking of! Yes? No? Maybe?

There have also been references made to a 19th century rural Irish family with the surname Houlihan who were known for their wild lifestyle, then later evolving into O'Holohan. Another theory is that the term came from a street gang in Islington named Hooley.

Yet another theory is that the term is based on an Irish word, houlie, which means a wild, spirited party.

So I am quite confused as I did not know Doc was Irish! :yikes: Just goes to show you learn something new every day! :D
