• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Local kids messing with my Spyder

I was out most of the day. When I got home at 4 PM, I decided to take the Spyder out for a ride. I noticed footprints all over my seat and when I started it up, the Throttlemeister was locked and it was at full throttle.

When I got back from dinner, I wasn't even off the Spyder when a girl rode up on her bike and asked if she could sit on it. I'm guessing she either saw someone on it earlier or heard someone bragging about being on it.

I've been in this apartment complex 4 1/2 months and this is the first problem I've had. I may need to get a sun cover to discourage random idiots.

Sun cover could work, Pitbull would work.:D

But yo've got to feed the pitbull. Oh wait! He'll get nourishment from kids who get too close! :roflblack:

Some kind of annoying alarm might get the message through to them after a brief period...

I'm pretty lucky up here... ( A locked garage!) Does anybody make a lock FOR a cover that's got some sort of noise-maker hooked into it? Kids don't think like real humans yet... a cover is something to hide in or under! An alarm hooked to it though might just discourage them!

Alarm with prox / motion sensor. Mine chirps when you are within 2 feet of it. A nice "look but don't touch" reminder.

I read about a guy with a GW bolted one of those little bicycle ringer things that go "ring-ring" when you push the thing on the side. He hooked it up to a switch for his Stebel horn.

People cannot resist ringing those stupid little ringers. He had fun watching people scare the crap out of themselves trying to "ring ring" his "ringer":D

Now this sounds like something I want to do. :yikes::yikes::yikes:

This what I have, 2 mile range and you can have the bike chirp when it trips or stay totaly silent. Either way you be alerted on your keyfob up to two miles away so you can catch them in the action. Has all the sensors built in and an ajustable proximity sensor.

When you see the kids:
Call then over and tell them about the Spyder and all the cool systems it has and give them a chance to sit on it.:D

I Bet the problems stop because you fullfilled their curiosity?nojoke

At the very least you need an outside cover and an alarm for it wouldn't be a bad idea. New Enough has some good items that may interest you. I use this cover and it works pretty well and is very cost effective. Here is a link to a pic of my covered Spyder. http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/album.php?albumid=737&pictureid=11596

Perhaps a little meet and greet w/ the brat's parents may help and if it doesn't wooden spoon swatting usually works - I got that all the time when I was a kid.
