• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

EZ Pass where to hide the transponder

Where do you all keep your ez pass? Any good hiding places since I hate looking at that ugly white thing. Thanks

I tried using the mounting velcro to mount it to the underside of the frunk -- at the highest point I could. I went through two toll booths and it did not register.

I have now wrapped it in a Ziploc bag and stick it between the windshield and the instrument cowl -- but only when I plan in advance that I will need it for tolls. It bounces about a bit on rough roads -- but doesn't slide much. It registers fine there!

That allows me to toss it into the frunk when I don't need it.

I put mine here, I got the one you put on the plate instead of the normal stick on white one. Not sure if they still offer these??

Glue it to the top of your helmet. You won't be able to see it then & it won't matter to you anymore!

Actually, I would have recommended attaching it to the underside of the frunk lid, but it sounds like that may not work.

How about inside the dash?

I used velcro to attach it to the cowling underneath the chad. Didn't bother to worry about water-proofing it. Works fine.

I just throw it in the frunk with the rest of the junk

no idea where it is right now, maybe in the bottom somewhere under the rain gear, zip ties and duct tape.

Then again it might be in the garage somewhere.

Never had an issue, tho I have no idea if it's working or not, or if it's even in the bike still.

When you register your plates with the state and it doesn't detect at the booth, they just automatically bill your account. Is it different there?

I used the strips they give you with the ezpass and mounted low on the CHAD. I have the darker tinted CHAD and it is not noticeble from the front. However, if you look low from the driver's position you can see it. Of course, I don't plan on entering my spyder in any beauty contest. So, I just wash and ride and don't worry about winning a first place.

I put mine right on the bottom of the windshield...nobody is going to take it as it's useless to anyone but you...they take a pic of EVERY car going through so they'll grab the tag of the person using your transmitter and prosecute them for you...

Never had an issue and it's in plain view...

They sell a holder with two suction cups on it at wawa or local 7 elevans and suction cup it to the inside of the windshield.

On all of my bikes I have it mounted low on the windshield using the clear plastic velcro they give you. I really don't notice it and if I'm traveling and not using it I just toss it in the tankbag. :D

Yes, that velcro does not come lose and it's wedged against the windshield...it sure ain't going anywhere...

I always leave mine on...no reason to ever do anything with it...

I mounted mine on the underside of the "frunk" which I still refer to as the hood. It works fine, I've had it there since I bought the bike in February, and I've used it in 8 states from CT to Tennessee and it's worked flawlessly. I've got about 9,500 miles on the bike now.

Here's a pic of the installation. It hasn't fallen off either. When you mount it, you just need to be careful to clear the high spots on the inside of the hood to be sure it mounts securely.

That is curious . . . I put mine in that exact location and it failed to read in the two toll booths I went through with it there.

Yes, that's very curious. I wish I could help you. There was another thread about the EZ Pass and several posters suggested mounting it under the hood, and that's why I mounted mine there.

I noticed from your signature that you have a 2009 Spyder, I assume it's an RS?

Perhaps there is some subtle difference between the RS and the RT that we don't know about ?

Another question, how old is your pass ? It may be possible that your EZ pass is near the end of it's life and doesn't read well anymore. There is a battery in the pass that eventually goes bad. It takes many years, but the battery will eventually die. The EZ pass authority keeps track of this and will issue a recall for your pass at the appropriate time, and then send you a replacement. I'm sure you could have your pass exchanged for a new one at your request.

In any event, you were clever enough to find a solution that suits your needs and that's what's most important.
