I like the adjustability, but the distortion when looking through the windshield is awful! Haven't ridden with it yet. Will tomorrow.

I have the Madstad system. Way more adjustment and being a single curve screen , minimal distortion. Mind you I always look just over the screen anyway. However windscreens seem a very personal choice so I hope Chad works out for you.I like the adjustability, but the distortion when looking through the windshield is awful! Haven't ridden with it yet. You're not supposed to look through any MC windshield... just over it. If the CHAD is that high then you need to lower it or have it trimmed down...
Except when it's raining, or hailing!I think, but may be wrong, that most look over and not through the windshield. I do have the CHAD also.
One reason I chose the CHAD is because it uses F4's coating on the shield. F4's coating behaves like Rain-X and gives exceptional visibility in rain. I have an F4 shield on my Road King and I can't say enough about how good it is!It is a personal choice. A tall windshield is a good thing till you get caught in the rain. Something about Spyders not having windshield wipers.
With a tall windshield in the rain, its not a fun time and you have to get creative to see the road ahead. Unless of course, you have some sort of rain repellant on you windshield...

Sorry, can't agree with that statement. I believe it's a personal choice rather than a hard-fast rule. I've been looking through all my bike's windshields for more years than looking over them, and have no trouble with doing it. I ride with my RT's windshield in the full up position (looking through it) & have a Tulsa x-tall windshield on my Goldwing. I love the quiet.
Obviously those of you who are blinded by rain on your windshield have never had a F4 windshield. Have you ever used Rain-X on your car or truck windshield?
:agree:If you're under the impression that the CHAD's 'F4' coating will make it easy to see through in the rain---- you're going to be very disappointed. I've ridden in the rain and ducked down to stay dry and couldn't see well at all through the CHAD.nojoke
Well-- to each their own---- but it's pretty well established that looking through a windshield is not preferred or safest.

Even Rain-X will not clear a windshield if the air doesn't flow over it in a good direction to remove the drops. Depending on how the CHAD is adjusted, it can end up too upright for the water to move very much. Another problem we've noticed with ours (same problem on my RT) is that the backlash water coats the back side of the windshield, and doesn't get blown off by the wind.
Personal choice, I guess. Many Goldwing riders are used to looking through their windshields. Same for those with Vetter fairings. I never cared for it. Too much glare, bugs, and reduced visibility from rain. I prefer to peek over the top.
I'm assuming that my CHAD is coated only on the outside. When I order a replacement shield from F3, I will specify coating for both sides. If water beads, I don't care whether or not it blows off. I can see fine through a windshield with beaded water on it. For the recod, I love the CHAD, now that I've got some riding time with it, but it needs to be taller for me. It's perfect for my wife! And every Spyder windshield I've tried does NOTHING for the passenger!
