There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Fogs aren't cheap or easy
I bought a set of OEM fogs from my local dealer, $450 including tax. The list price was $499. I figured installing them would be a good Saturday project. Wrong! :dontknow: The entire front end has to be disassembled, including sliding the nose cone off the Spyder so that remote hardware beneath the foglight housing is accessible. I got to that page in the instructions, paused for thought and put the bike back together. I was rightfully concerned that things that come apart don't necessarily go back together.
ray: My local mechanic installed the lights in about 90 minutes for $138. The RT now lights up like a cruise ship at night.:clap:
I like to think I know one end of a screwdriver from the other, but the installation was too much for me. Others on this board would probably have no trouble. BTW, I have a set of black plastic wedges for the nose cone if anyone needs them....

:agree: The more light you can throw in front of you, the less chance that some cage is gonna try and see that they didn't see you! (That's completely forgetting about how much more light they actually throw at night!:shocked
Well worth the money, but I don't know of any non-oem part that'll fit where the stockers go...

You could mount the Moto Lights, but the cost will be close to the BRP foglights. The Moto Lights mount on the front suspension.

The Blue are AWESOME,I put mine in over the week-end and found a row of buildings with huge windows and I rode around them a few times:roflblack:. (Much too much time on my hands sometimes.)

I'm on short term disability from work. Can't go back until 25 Oct. been out since 8 Sept. Was just able to get back riding on 20 Sept. only after I showed the doc a picture of the Spyder. Otherwise he wouldn't have let me ride. So, as to too much time on my hands, yes for now. Waiting patiently for nightfall :spyder:

I was going to put blue GloRyders on my Spyder as well until I saw this thread: Ticketed. I travel enough that I don't want to have to keep track of which states do and don't allow blue accent lights, so I'm going to play it safe with amber. I might buy one of their replacement boards for those times when I want to show off!
Ohio's laws give the police the leeway to ticket GloRyders, as technically, they rotate:
...and except a public law enforcement officer, or other person sworn to enforce the criminal and traffic laws of the state, operating a public safety vehicle when on duty, no person shall operate, move, or park upon, or permit to stand within the right-of-way of any street or highway any vehicle or equipment that is equipped with, or upon which is mounted, and displaying a flashing blue or a flashing combination blue and white light, or an oscillating or rotating blue light, or a combination blue and white oscillating or rotating light.
North Carolina prohibits them:
(c) It is unlawful for any person to possess a blue light or to install, activate, or operate a blue light in or on any vehicle in this State, except for a publicly owned vehicle used for law enforcement purposes or any other vehicle when used by law enforcement officers in the performance of their official duties. As used in this subsection, unless the context requires otherwise, "blue light" means any forward facing blue light installed on a vehicle after initial manufacture of the vehicle; or an operable blue light which:
(1) Is not (i) being installed on, held in inventory for the purpose of being installed on, or held in inventory for the purpose of sale for installation on a vehicle on which it may be lawfully operated or (ii) installed on a vehicle which is used solely for the purpose of demonstrating the blue light for sale to law enforcement personnel;
(1a) Is designed for use by an emergency vehicle, or is similar in appearance to a blue light designed for use by an emergency vehicle; and
(2) Can be operated by use of the vehicle's battery, the vehicle's electrical system, or a dry cell battery.
(c1) The provisions of subsection (c) of this section do not apply to the possession and installation of an inoperable blue light on a vehicle that is inspected by and registered with the Department of Motor Vehicles as a specially constructed vehicle and that is used primarily for participation in shows, exhibitions, parades, or holiday/weekend activities, and not for general daily transportation. For purposes of this subsection, "inoperable blue light" means a blue‑colored lamp housing or cover that does not contain a lamp or other mechanism having the ability to produce or emit illumination.
There's a site that lists links to all of the various state lighting laws. Just a thought...

That's kinda what I was thinking. However, as I know most all LE around here, am friends with the sheriff, have a retired state trooper next door, maybe I'll ask. But it does clearly state forward facing, and I've seen enough low riders around with blue accent in the wheel wells and rockers, I don't think that will be a problem. Now in communist states such as NJ, MD, VA...:lecturef_smilie:

Yup, NC specifies forward-facing, but OH does not. Just like GloRyders rotate, they also don't shine out, they shine onto the wheel, both forwards and backwards. It's a minor point, I acknowledge, but since it was costly for a forum member, I thought I'd bring it up. I'm not trying to change anybody's mind, just ensuring you know what's possible. I'll be quiet.
