• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rear brake squeal

Just had my Two Brothers exhaust installed on my 2010 RT and it sounds great. Fairly easy installation. Also have the rear brake squeal and my dealer has tried twice to fix it. They will now replace the rear pads on Wed. and I hope this fixes the problem. Also just had the recall on the DPS finished and the steering feels better. They also fixed two Service Bulletins that I did not know about. The weather her is just getting great now for riding.

Having my brake pads replaced too. My RT sounds like Chewbacca when backing up. It's pretty annoying and embarassing... :opps:

I just recently put new rear pads on my Spyder at about 28K.... they are talking a little too much for my tastes, but only in reverse. I wonder if the belt needs adjustment too.

Good thing I'll be getting her into the dealer within the next 6 weeks.

Not to worry... it's only reverse! :roflblack:

True, but I do have to back up quite a bit to just get it out of my driveway.

Speaking of which, we are we going to get together and RIDE!!?? :doorag:

You bet! Now that you guys are back from AZ we should check our schedules and make it happen! End of this month/Early October is looking really good. Looking forward to it!

BTW, WELCOME BACK! Hope you had a grea trip. :2thumbs:

Yes, we did, thanks. This coming Sunday I have to work, but Saturday is free. Either of the first two weekends in October is good for us too. Let us know and we'll make plans. :)

Does the warranty cover the brake squeal? I noticed it on mine the other day.

Probably not getting a full release on the parking brake. The linkage has a tendency to bind when not lubed regularly. We had the same problem on all three units. I used silicone spray on the mechanical lingage on both sides of the system. "Do not" spray the silicone on the rotor or pads.

Only spray the linkages. Then work the pedal a 3 or 4 times and spray lightly again. I've only had to do this a couple of times in the past year, but, there is always a but, I avoid puddles and I make it a point not to ride in the rain. As I tell my "better half" old men melt in the rain.

I use the GE silicone dry spray. It is water resistant. Hope this helps you too. Ken krb19145

My Spyder SCREAMED in reverse...anytime you moved it, even if you pushed it...
Dealer replaced the 1st generation pads.
Put on the 2nd geration pads...30 miles later it was the same, maybe even louder.....
Back to the dealer

Dealer said "wait for the 3rd generation pads....that will quiet it up"
I waited and waited and waited.....
3rd generation pads we delivered to the dealer and then the dealer told me
"These are an upgrade, and not covered under warranty" I asked them to call BRP (they said they did)

So, I found another place to do my service. New mechanic said "I will call BRP and talk to them about it" He did!
BRP replaced the pads (3rd generation) and a new rear disc at their cost.

No more scream in 1K miles.

I have had good results with removing the calliper pins that hold the brake pads, removing any wear marks with some emery paper and applying anti-seize to them.I then deglazed the pads cleaned up where the calliper pistons squeeze in on the backs and used brake de-squeal on them.Wipe down the rotors while your at it to remove and containments.Pads seem to find a home position on the pins and will wear on them by doing the above they will self align on the pins.
