• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Almost hit a person today.

:D

Well if I was home and she walked in my house ranting and raving, she would have been all done, as in NOT breathing anymore.

Sure she's got a looney tune problem in the head, probably too many drugs as a youngin or something but still, she is a danger and if someone were to come at me IN MY HOME, all done, bubbye, Cya, Asta La Vista

just know your castle laws in your state. hoping PA enacts the castle law here. we are working on it currently.

many states you have the DUTY TO RETREAT first and not a Castle Law. if you are in those states and shoot an intruder first you may end up going to jail :(

I see this map and that is all good but I'll tell you this... if a toon ever came into my home and pulled a dangerous stunt I would try to just cripple them first so that they could never do it again. If they persisted they would not survive the experience. and they would have a weapon on them that threatened my life and my family's life. End of story. And that is all I have to say about that!

Well at long last I found out where my ex-wife moved to............

That is too funny:roflblack:. Visiting hours are 10-2 at the jail if your missing her.

I feel sorry for the lady, I mean she is seriously mentally ill. There isn't a place for people like her anymore so they end up homeless, in jail, and in society where they bring chaos when they forget to take their medications.

Clueless...
If you get some workable version of a Castle Law ienacted in "Pennsyltucky" the Missus and I will be over the border in a shot! :D
Until then I'll just keep aiming for the center of mass and swearing to the Police that the poor misguided creature had a knife...
Amanda, I really don't mean to preach to or at you, but don't EVER feel bad if you have to defend yourself. you'd feel worse after the fact if you couldn't protect yourself or those who depend on you...
(Off the soapbox!)

We have some very disturbing laws in Connecticut. Basically if you shoot an intruder and kill them or hurt them in any way, you'll be put through the ringer. And if they're still breathing, you'll most likely get sued. Doesn't make sense to me at all.

Also when training w/ a firearms instructor, you are taught that guns kill and don't pull that trigger unless you absolutely think your life is in jeopardy. If you don't intend to kill, then don't own a gun. Basically you don't shoot to mame, you shoot to kill. If you miss and just mame, you're still gonna get in trouble.

But regardless, I'm five feet, 100 pounds soaking wet. Most people are bigger and stronger than I am so I'd rather take the chance of being put through the ringer with our broken court system.:2thumbs: At least I'd still be breathing - remember judged by 12 is better than being carried out by 6.

if you need to...

Besides, if you need to hide, you have plenty of places you can hole up until things settle down. Where I live, we have wild hogs that will eat up most, if not all the evidence...

Sounds like you can take care of yourself, just saying you are not alone. Plenty of 'family' around for you.

Sure sounds like this woman needs some serious help. Shooting her would have got you in a huge amount of trouble--- as paint would hardly be considered a lethal weapon-----:roflblack:

Seriously though--- shoot or kill someone-- even if they break into your home--- and your financial life is probably over in our sue-happy society..... but at least you'll be alive.

We had someone try to break into our hotel room 3:00am Saturday night on the way home from SITS--- turned out being the night manager who double-booked our room and was trying to help another couple into OUR room. We had latched the door so they were only able to get the door open a few inches. I was at the door pretty quick asking 'who the :cus: is it' ??? Having a gun could have been a good thing--- or a very bad thing....

A lot of Bravado out there. Pretty hard to kill someone even if you think they deserve it.
And if it comes down to it, He who hesitates loses, And sometimes He who doesn't hesitate makes a big mistake.

That one could have gone either way! We were given someone else's room once. Thank goodness whoever actually had the room was not there at the time. Man we got the heck outta there as fast as we could! The Hotel Manager got a good toungue-lashing and we got a free upgrade! But what if the party was there? That could have been a disaster.

We joke about the pigs - especially when the boys came around to date the daughters. They never knew for sure that Joe was fooling (having the rifle in his lap, cleaning it)...

As to the other comments, I think most of us like the idea that we can handle stuff as it comes up. Wanting to hurt/kill someone? No, but I will protect myself, those I love and what I worked hard to acquire. I do not believe in just rolling over, in the cause of 'nothing is worth a life.' To me, it's that belief that causes others to take what they want, without earning it. Just my opinion, for what's it worth. Nice thing about our country, we can all have opinions, without fear of being censored for them. And yes, I did my time to protect our rights (9 years in the Navy).

Very true about the paint thing but I have to say it was happening so fast I didn't know what she had and was going to throw at me. When I look back now I realize she had a gallon of paint in one hand and a brush in the other and that she is right handed, but at the time I had no clue what she was doing or what she had that she was going to throw. I braced myself for the impact of something, and expected to feel pain. When I didn't feel anything I just thought she missed. It wasn't until later that I noticed the paint, in fact it wasn't until the police officer was leaving after talking to her that I looked at my bike and noticed it. She was yelling, I'm still not sure what she said during the event, I only know some of the things she said when I was waiting for the police to come. I wasn't armed anyway I was just on my way to work and was clueless as to what was about to transpire so there was no chance something would happen there. After any/all events that occurred with her I got to a safe distance and called the police, so I feel that I always did the correct thing. This lady has had a hard life, it shows. But, I do have to say that I had reached the point that if it were to continue I don't know that I would have reacted appropriately as after a month of issues, and going on the fourth day of MAJOR issues I was spent, tired from not sleeping, frustrated nothing was being done, was scared and worried about what she would do next because I noticed she was getting more bold, and over it as were many other neighbors. AND because her behavior was getting more bizarre, more dangerous and was unpredictable there is no doubt in my mind that someone in the neighborhood was going to get hurt if it continued. Going 50mph in a neighborhood because you are angry and almost hitting people mailboxes, cars and whatever with children playing just isn't a good thing. She is currently still in a facility getting a psychological evaluation. It's also not a good thing to threaten to get a knife and kill all your neighbors, it already sets up a situation where people are going to be afraid you are going to try to hurt them. I can say she doesn't really fit the criteria for anything that I can think of. Only because she was bizarre and psychotic like but then the moment a police officer was around she acted almost normal and calmed down every single time. That tells me she has control over the behaviors, has been in the system for a long time and knows how to play the game, knows what she can get by with and when, rather than it being a symptom of a disorder. In fact, after throwing the paint she also screamed "call the police," she knew what was going to happen, and she thought she would be able to get away with what she had done because she had all the other times. The police also noticed that she is very smart, she always had a logical excuse for why she did what she did if she admitted that it happened at all.

She isn't worth all the trouble it would be if something happened. Judged by 12 might be better than being carried out by 6, but basically I think your life as you know it would be over at that point. I would judge myself, have to live with it and always wonder did I do the right thing. Was that really the only option that I had, because if it isn't then it is very wrong to do, so I'm very glad that finally after all the neighbors were repeatedly calling about her that something was done. Some were sitting on their porches with baseball bats and other things to protect themselves and others were hiding in their houses. Now its back to normal, is calm and peaceful. Until she returns...next court date is October 27th currently. It looks like they are trying to keep her away as long as possible and the trial is November 9th (these things rarely go to trial though).
