• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Installed the EVO Sway Bar.

Got the Spyder all back together last night.
I spread the work out over about 3 days, only because its SO HOT in the garage here in TX. Total hours spent on it was about 2.5 to 3 from start to finish.

It was alot easier than I imagined it would be.
Havent had a chance to ride it yet, but rockin it in the garage there seems to be a BIG difference.

Ill update when I get back from a ride this weekend.

One question for those that have installed it.
I assume the "stops" that were clamped on the stock bar just outside of the clamps/bushing are not usd in any way on the new bar (different diameter).

Yep, the stops are not used with the new bar. Mine really made a good difference on the RS and now the RT.

Thanks Dave!
Wish I would have bought it sooner for my trip through Arkansas. Oh well, guess Ill just have to go back! LOL

Cool! Do we REALLY need to remove the front end as much as the instructions state? I was thinking I could just jack the RT into the air or run it up on ramps and to the exchange... Seems to not be the case as I read the instructions... :dontknow:

Cant tell ya on the RT, mines a GS. I thought I saw a thread where someone did it on an RT without removing the frunk though. Ill see if I can find it.

You can do it without removing the trunk. Just remove the bolts on the bottom, I think there were 4 or 6 of them and you can gently pull the trunk forward to get enough room. It is tight, but will work.

Sweet ok... I was reading those instructions and I started to get woosie...:roflblack:

OK, got to try out the new to me sway bar this weekend in Hill Country out by New Braunfels, TX.

WOW! What a difference! I had heard all the owners singing the praises of the bar, and thought, "OK, maybe it helps a little." It changes the ride ALOT! Very flat around corners compared to the stock bar. Highly recommend this mod!

Its good. I do some, but not a lot, of 2-up on the RTS and it has made a big difference. On my RS, it really helped when 2-up also. Takes away a good amount of the body roll when cornering and the swaying on the straights.

I'm not buying it. Confess... it really was the black wheels, right? :D

.

I have heard that the stiffer swaybar helps keep the "Electronic Nannies" from getting in the way of a really fun section of road... has anybody noticed this??

Bob my feeling is nothing is going to stop the nanny but with the bar it prevents the body roll going around corners and turns so most likely the nanny won't kick in if it does then you are way over your head at that point. I have never had the wheel lift on me. I have seen my dealer do it to make sure the nanny does work on a bike but not with the evo swayer. This has always been one of my first recommendations as an upgrade then ESI lights mud flaps, turn signals,3rd brake light for the gs/rs models, handlebar risers, comfort seat and highway pegs. I know you have an RT maybe you can pass this a long to your son in fla we have a number of members from the board who live down their who will help when he gets his.

Thanks Roger, I've sent the list down to him... He had said that he'll be getting serious about this in March, 2011; He's got some travel plans and business projects going that'll be out of the way by then...
My list of "wants" at this time is a Corbin seat, an extra brakelight in the rear (Kewlmetal or Street Magic...), the mudflaps, the brightsides front and rear, and then maybe some RTS chrome parts to dress up mine just a bit... (Then the swaybar...)
Now if my Missus sees this... I'm just kidding!!! :D
