There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Almost hit a person today.

A crazy lady lives between me and the highway. I went to gas up my bike and she ran out in the road screaming. I tried to speed up to get around her, but she ran out further. I had to swerve so I didn't hit her and duck because she was throwing something. Instinctively I took my hand off the throttle to protect my head (wasn't wearing a helmet). Turned out it was white paint (she decided it was a good day to paint her blazer, the windows, tires and all are now white) I think I got most of the paint off the bike but I'm wondering if there is more behind the panels because I smelled paint when I got to work. When I pulled over at a safe distance to call the police She screamed " welcom to the bike world #$@*%. Wanna eat my p*##&." She then said something to the effect of why do I need three wheels. Anyway, that was my close call on the way to work. Figured I'd share as I've read others stories of close calls. They didn't arrest her, so I guess when I go home it might be more of the same. I don't want my bike White...I like black!!!!

We used to have a nut job in my old neighborhood that tried to grab me a and my friend comming out of the woods on our quads. He was always yelling to get off his property which was funny because the property we were on was county and the street as well. We weren't reckless in any way. I talked to the people in the neighborhood and turns out everyone had problems with these people they were just nut jobs. Some people are just nuts, but I don't see how they didn't arrest her, wouldn't that be assult in a way, property damage? Maybee you should carry some paint with you next time, black to match the bike and throw it right back.

Nut job or not, assault is assault. Your insurance company can address the Spyder, but if I were you I'd lean on the police...and press charges.

When I was a youngster, I owned a bike with a shot muffler. A dotty old gent, who lived nearby, hated the sound. He would hide in the cottonwood trees that lined our street until I rode by, then he would rush out and try to strike me with his cane. Being young and foolish, I got so that I enjoyed the game of dodging him and I was sorry when they finally took him away to an institution.

Wow, I just have to dodge deer on my street. Although I do have a neighbor who cut down two of my trees without permission.

Yep... I had some tool on I-71 north of Columbus do a bit of road rage on me two weeks ago.

I did nothing to provoke him... I stayed a ways behind him in the fast lane patiently waiting to make better time. He wasn't moving that slow, so I just hung out. When he moved over, I started moving up, and he quickly pulled out into the hammer lane to block me twice....

On my third try to move past, he nearly cut me off, and then sprayed his windshield washers all over me...

I almost fired up 911 via the Scala headset and reported it. I weighed the time it would cost me on the side of the road with a trooper explaining his behavior as well probably needing to defend against some made up story on his part.

So... I hung back for about 5 miles or so and when I figured he was now bored with me, I firewalled the Spyder and moved by before I think he realized...Kept going till I mixed in with the forward group of traffic so he couldn't play tag.... 20 miles later I checked my mirrors and of to a rural route I went.

I can honestly say I haven't had anything that weird happen to me ever.

Best bet is to rationalize the impact to your schedule and involvement with law enforcement before playing any games back or getting worked up over it. I'm glad I stayed patient and in control that time... I usually don't.

She is going to not stop, you know that right?

* Brother your new lady friend is jealous of you because you are happy, and she can not stand that so she wants to disturb you. She wants to tame you down to her level.
You need to call the Police, and request that a shift supervisor stop over to speak with you about your concerns. Be a upstanding resident when you speak to them, and let them know you are concerned for your safety.
*Remember to use trigger words like fear, scared, cautions, harassed, etc.
The Police shift supervisor will understand you mean business if you remain proper as you explain your deep concerns.
These tactics have work before to resolve issues for me in the past, and should work for you unless this lady is a Police drug narc, or some strange sh-t. If that is the case drop a PM of what City you reside, full name of the lady, her full address, and I will see what I can do.

When I first had the Spyder(while these were still new to market), I had someone yelling at me while on I-10 to get off the road with that thing.

OK my new mod to do list now includes a flamethrower. Do you think Stinger missiles will look good on my Spyder ? :spyder:

Well since the police don't arrest her, next time she comes at you just run her over and tell the cops since they won't arrest her you were only trying to protect yourself.:2thumbs:

Crazy lady...

She continued throughout the day. She took all her belongings and put them on the road. She actually walked into my neighbors house uninvited and was yelling at her. She's lucky she didn't walk into mine when I was home. I had four neighbors waiting for me to get home because they were having all kinds of problems too. They took her in tonight, I don't know when she will be back. Probably they will stabilizer her on meds. and send her home. If she has an ounce of sense on her medications she will move, because people are fed up. She has been terrorizing the neighborhood for a month now, people wouldn't let their kids outside and were pretty much hiding in their houses. I got most of the paint off, I need to scrub the seat a little and look under the panels tomorrow...somehow a big glob got under the Corbin trunk and I think it may have dripped down.

Paint and any damage... file a claim against her homeowner's insurance... if she has any.

As infuriating as it can be . . . . .

. . . . it is just as sad when someones wiring gets screwed up.

Glad to hear she is (hopefully) being cared for, but overall, the whole experience has to be more than a little frightening.

I agree with the others that you should file a claim and continue to press the police and other services for assistance - yours and hers. Have your insurance company file the claim - that is what they are there for.

If things continue on this path, it will most likely have a very sad ending, so keep pressing to get it resolved.

Tom

Wow Amanda, that is really screwed up. And to think I thought I had it bad with having to dodge deer. Hopefully they will either get her straightened out with meds, or commit her for a long time. Best of luck with getting rid of the paint as well, that part truly sucks after all the work you put into your Spyder. :(

I'm with you on this one. I hate to say this but law enforcement just doesn't want to deal with crap like this. It's inherent laziness and they put the burden on the citizen. So fine then. I don't resort to violence unless I have NO CHOICE. If this continues unchecked you may be put into that position, and it's going to suck. Scotty is right; you should lean on the authorities to do something about this.

Some jerk in a Benz tried to run me off the road last week. He now has a door to fix. My kick came up short of the window...

Personally... I will be buying some ball bearings to keep in my front jacket pocket.... A casual over the shoulder toss should be enough to get their attention....

that is a awsome story, it is too bad they did not arrest her, as a dispatcher I would tell you to have all your neighbors call about ANYTHING that does not allow you to do what you usually do in your neighborhood, eventually she will get taken in, maybe not arrested but taken somewhere that can get her meds straighted out.
