Would anyone be interested in a ride to the Blessing Hotel for lunch

It's been a couple of years since I was there, but the home cooked food has always been good. Blessing is just west of Bay City off of 35. I'll check today and see where a central meet-up place would be. It might be that different areas meet at different locations and then all meet at one location.

We might be up for that. My wife works almost every weekend now, so getting a weekend off to ride is a chore. Now that we're getting double digits, might have to wait until the heat drops off a little.

Lunch is the best time to go to Blessing....with that said and the heat index above 100 degrees....I think we should wait until the weekend of the 21st.

Who all can make the trip to Blessing on Sat. Aug. 21st or is Sun. Aug 22nd. Either day is good for me.

I suspect my wife is working that weekend, so may not be able to go. But it will STILL be hot on the 21st. I'm thinking mid Sep to really think about venturing out.

The 1st weekend in Sept could work for me ...then after that I'm tied up for a while..but that doesn't mean that the rest of y'all can't go...ride to Blessing...it is a fun place to eat..

Wish I could make the ride but it's a little too far away for me. The last time (only time I guess) that I was in Blessing was in 1961. I was repairing telephone cable after hurricane Carla. I had been working and staying in Palacios and the company sent my helper and me to Blessing one day to fix several spots of wet cable. It was a blessing, okay, since we were able to buy several cases of beer and smuggle them back into Palacios which was under martial law and no alcohol sales were allowed. That beer sure tasted good that night. Thanks for stirring up old memories.

My Spyder goes in the shop on Tuesday.....need work on the transmission...we will see how long it will take to get it back......but this Sunday I'm riding to Winnie, Texas to eat at Al T's with some Valkyrie friends...if anyone is interested.
