There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Spyders in the Smokies Rally, who's going?

Spyders in the Smokies

Lillian and I are new members here and will be picking up our RT a/c on Thursday with the clutch fix assured before delivery. We actually spent our honeymoon in Gatlinburg many moons ago and have been back a couple of times. It certainly has changed as has most places-back then almost all Mom and Pop motels. It sound like Lamont's Bar B Que, backyard style, is the place to be if you get hungry. I love bar b que, the worst I ever had was pretty good.

Spyders in the Smokies - VIA Interstate-81??

Hi folks, I'm ryding from Maryland to Spyders in the Smokies for the entire week of the event, departing the 19th of Sept, riding down I-81 through the Shennandoah Valley ... spending that night in Roanoke, VA then continuing down 81 to Tennessee, etc., to arrive in Gatlinburg on the 20th. I'm trying to link with other ryders who may be traveling during the same time frame to link with in MD, VA at various points along the way, including those that are ryding down from PA, NY, NJ, OH, WV, etc.

Let's correspond on schedules and see if we can grow a pack o' spydies along our ryde! Safety in numbers ... comaradeship and all like that, ya know?

Paul

Thanks Deb :doorag:

For the new folks here I've had a BBQ at my place the last two years during the Spyders in the Smokies rally. This rally is in my backyard and it was a good opportunity get together with some of my new found friends on the board and feed them a meal.

Last year it picked up steam and we wound up feeding over 150 folks and had over 100 Spyders in my front yard. There were door prizes and lots of good fellowship. We even had a jump the ditch with the Spyder contest but we only had one taker on that one. :D

As the event gets a little closer I'll put a post up so we can figure out how much food to order. There is no cost to you and we just put out a can for donations if you want to help out. Hope to see you all again this year. :2thumbs:

Hey Lamonster,

What time will the event be at you home on Thursday as I'll ryde up that morning...

Thanks. :2thumbs:

You can show up anytime. I think we start eating around 3pm but I need to make sure about that.[/QUOTE
what about the guy that brought the BBQ last year :dontknow:
of course it don't matter Ron's hot dogs will do just fine it is the friend ship that counts :2thumbs:

See You There !!

Spiderwoman & I are looking forward to being there. It's our first time... and it sounds like a great time! Spiderwoman has got her own :spyder2: now.......... Thanks to seeing all the other Lady Riders at Spyderfest !

I am looking forward to the entire week but particularly looking forward to seeing old friends again. Lamont's BBQ is a HUGE part of the experience and wouldn't miss it for anything. He and his wife are the consummate host and hostess!!

I'm not sure I will make most of the rally now. I have another job interview on Friday and I'm not sure I can get a couple days off that week so soon after hire to go... Though I'm going to try my best.

Of course... If I don't get the job, I'll be there still!

My wife and I will be there with both of our Spyders. :2thumbs: May have her dad tagging along on his Boulevard as well.

While it would be great to see you, I hope you get the job!

Not sure if I will make the journey. Nancy is back to teaching by that time, so I'd have to make the trip alone. I really hate travelling without her!

Scotty,

I think I know what you mean. My wife is a teacher also. Trips in the spring and in the fall just don't happen for her. I never enjoy trips as much when she can't come along. However, I do travel without her, call home daily and take lots of pictures to share when I get home. Let us know if you change your mind ... or if I missed your post saying you would come! LOL

Spyders in the Smokies

:yes:Brenda and I will be there from Arkansas, but can't get out till Friday so won't be there till Sat, just in time for the Ride In, We do get to stay until Tuesday so will get some riding in at least, have't had the Spyder in Eastern TN yet.

:yes:Wife and I will be there for the week. Although we live in Virginia, we'll be travelling from Michigan where we will be attending a motorcoach rally the previous week. We will be staying outside Pigeon Forge at Cove Creek RV Resort. Anyone else traveling via RV?

I'm pretty sure I can make it even if I get this job... I just have to call out thursday and friday to them as previously planned... I don't think I'll get grief over it and I'm only 170 miles from the rally...
