• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

drain plug stripped out, anyone have a better replacment

You can JB Weld a magnet on the end of the bolt. I've done this before and it works great.

Just be sure to get a magnet that is at least a bit smaller in diameter than the bolt (DUH!).

The advantage is you can get a much larger/stronger magent than what usually comes on magnet ended drain plugs (if you can even find a magnet ended drain plug for your application).

Changed oil in my Spyder today and re-discovered something. The bolt heads are Torx, NOT Allen!

An Allen will go into the hole and even give you some grip. But you'll round it out for sure using an Allen.

That is because the hole is designed for a 6mm Torx head.

The drain plugs are Torx?

Not from what I recall-- will check my extra stock tomorrow-- but I was positive they were hex.

Did the same,

but just ordered goldplugs.com, MP01 & MP02 plus extra washers. $10 each plus washers & shipping. Look like great quality. Good luck.

And the oil drain plug plot thickens! (queue theme from "Mission Impossible"!) :roflblack: I must agree with Lamont that changing spec on a critical fastener and not letting anyone know about it is kind of nuts!! :shocked: I will have to pay very close attention when my time comes, which will be soon on the RS-S. I believe I will be getting the gold plugs as well and just avoid all this nastiness. That is, once I get the old ones out! :D

I was wrong :opps::opps::opps::opps:

I just jacked my Spyder up and looked again. :opps:
