There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Seat comfort

Has anyone tried the AIR Hawk?? Looks really interesting, and think I will try it.:spyder:Memory foam may put you up too high and you could get whipped by wind. ;)Yes?? No???:hun:

I have about 1K miles on the AIR Hawk & love it.
No more pressure points.

I also have the BRP Comfort Seat on mine and like it much better than the stock one.

My father-in-law is going to see a custom upholstery guy tomorrow to see if they can do anything with the seat on his Suzuki Boulevard. He is sitting too far back and has to reach for the handlebars more than he really likes. I am trying to convince my wife to take her Spyder and see if this guy has any ideas on making it fit her better as well. She sits on the front of the seat, so the entire back section of the riders position is wasted space right now.

Corbin makes a great seat for the Spyder.

BRP Comfort seat is another good option.

True , however before our RT's , we tried a BRP Comfort seat (wife loved it when she drove , I thought the bowed shape of the stock seat fit me a bit better ). So who knows what the answer is there?
Some have loved the Corbin but I found it way too hard for me , case in point a guy I work with spent 750 on a Corbin seat for his RS 2 months ago and sold it a month later at a large loss after describing it to me as the most expensive brick he ever purchased. Another guy I ride with from Buffalo loves his Corbin more than his wife.
Whats my point? A "Great" seat may or may not be a "great" seat for everyone. If you seriously take the time to research Corbin seats through a myriad of motorcycle forums you will find haters of them and lovers of them. Additionally of late there appears to be more instances being posted than ever before of Customer Satisfaction Issues with the company itself. I don't know if thats because Mike is selling the business or not.
Every Arse is different. Some love the stock seat and can run 700 mile days without a issue , some can't sit on it an hour. Whatever you do , sit on and get some seat time on any seat that you need to spend money on FIRST. You may find the Corbin is the cats meow...or not.

Now to answer your question on memory foam, I have used it on a Goldwing seat but not a Spyder. It does help suppress the pressure point issues , but needs to be at least 3 inches thick to do its job. Keep this in mind when contemplating using it. :2thumbs:

See, I'm just the opposite; I'm pushing against the back part of the seat because I have long legs! I've been looking at the BRP Comfort seat, but I like the stitching on my RS-S seat so I may just go find an Upholstery guy too and see what adjustments he can make if any. It's a pretty comfy saddle though; no major complaints!

I have put 5k on my airhawk and would not trade it for comfort. but a stated before everyone is different. Just my 2% :chat:

A sheepskin or airhawk will make anybody's butt feel a whole lot better....and it's one hell of a lot cheaper than a corbin seat...:)

Roho is airhawk I should have said that, I can't feel it but everyone I have sit on it says it great.

Looks really great Seth............................ but if you bust an air cell "and you will" you need to get off it ASAP and repair it.... Not the easiest thing to do when it's stapled. Your ass is your life, dont forget that.. Did you put memory foam underneath?

At the very least i hope you have the repair kit for the airhawk in your bike at all times:D

I like my Bead Runner. Its cheap, easy to install, and does the job: distributing pressure points and ventilation. Think "monkey-butt". Before going the more expensive routes, try out the lesser so. You might like it.

no foam in there, cut it away. I have it in the case it came in, you have had them go to crap on you? what cut it? the wheelchair one I have seems pretty bulletproof, I mean for daily use.

never had the airhawk blowout, but my daily chair ones blow out after about a year. Than it seems they just keep springing leaks. I have a few spares so i'm not stuck. I been on the rohos for decades, only cushion i will ever ever use. Just keep that repair kit in your ride @ all times. you never know..

A different kind of seat improvement.

First of all, I like my stock RT seat with my Alaskan Leather sheepskin just fine and even better.

The kind of improvement I'm looking for is for quick access to the fuel cap. After seeing Lamont's Corbin quick access flapper thingie, I want one..Not the Corbin but the quick access flap for re-fueling. Anyone tried that one yet.

On long trips I carry stuff on my passenger seat and my wife has our dog carrier on her back seat. With the VERY frequent fueling stops we all must make on the RT's..It gets to be a pain. Any ideas or help out there??? ....Len

if your going to DIY, cut your gas cap area of the seat off, get a gas cap door hinge thingy from a scrapped vehicle, Recover your 2 pieces and attach the gas cap thingy to both sections. Trial and error, but I think it can be done for a minimal amount of money.
