• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

PSA for the RT-S SE5

Okay Folks I have now had my RT-S SE5 for just over two weeks and today was the best. This machine keeps getting more fun to ride each and every time I get on it. Not sure if it is a JEDI mind trick, but after having my 600 mile service, repairing the horn and the fog light, adjusting my front shock up to #4, this thing totally rocks!!! 1000 miles and counting.
Out with my HD buddy today and he was some kind of sad, “Everyone wants to stop and look at your SPYDER, and they ignore my bike completely” All in fun he has a nice bike, just not a SPYDER.
Rode over the Coronado Bridge here in San Diego, and never realize how much we do not see in our car. My wife loved every minute of it. Went up Mt. Helix at Sunset and wow what a view. Now I have done these things a million times but today on the SPYDER, totally awesome and different.
For all the folks that are sitting on the fence about the purchase of this transformer, I was in the same boat. For right now this weekend made it all worthwhile.
DISCLAIMER: I had the transmission do what everyone is talking about today (first time) but you know what the recall is out they will fix it soon enough, ready to Ryde on.:chat:

Time for a Spyder road trip from Tucson to San Diego!

That would be a great trip except for passing thru ElCentro, the Armpit of the Southwest:doorag:

After that, ryding thru the mountains would be awesome! Used to do that trip in my 280ZX Turbo w/ the t-tops off:thumbup: .... in another life.....

Poor El Centro.....they have it roughnojoke

SocalT, may I ask which San Diego dealer you use for service? Thanks. (I've been happy with SD House of MC on El Cajon Blvd.)

i use north county house of motorcycles, they are okay. they still dont know about the clutch recall. the main spyder tech there is John, he knows a lot about spyders.
how is HOM in San Diego? that would be a lot closer to me.

SDHOM is excellent. Nick is their Spyder tech, knows his stuff. It's a small service shop, so turnaround is not always quick, but they're an attentive bunch, as are the fellows in parts. I've been to Fun Bike for parts and service, but much prefer SDHOM. (If you need a customer paint job, Fun Bike leases space to a top-notch sprayer.)

:agree:
That's my old stomping grounds right there. Back in the day we use to have timed races up Mt. Helix. That was when you could still park on the side of the wall too. :doorag:

Not a great pic but you could see Mexico and the islands that day.

Very nice write up. Glad to hear you are enjoying your Spyder, and you have a great attitude concerning the current recall as well.

Thanks for sharing, and how about some pictures next time. :D
