• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is this normal?

Yes, it is normal. But it's not NEARLY as bad as it was in 2008/2009. You couldn't get out of gas stations or anywhere else you stopped as people were lining up.

It's WAY better now! My gas stops are down to only 20 minutes! :roflblack:

Yep, definitely normal. I make sure not to stop anywhere if I'm driving it to work or I know I'll be late. It's really fun to park your Spyder outside a restaurant and then go in and eat, sitting by the windows so you can see how many people walk up to it during the time it takes you to have your dinner.

My dealer is a mile from our local Cracker Barrel. The day I drove mine off the lot, we took it down to the Cracker Barrel and had some dinner. I did as above and wound up watching 4 couples walk up to my brand new Spyder. Then on my way out of the restaurant another couple came up to me, then soon as they walked away 2 couples with 6 kids between them came up. The kids had a blast when I let them sit on it too.

Pretty much anywhere I go on it, if I pull off and stop I get attention. Plus as others have said, the gawkers who don't stop and drive down the road staring.

I got nothing but sneers when about 8 members of the Outlaws Motorcycle Club passed us on the NYS Thruway last year. My gf was a little intimidated to say the least.

Of course I've gotten all the other stuff mentioned.

Same thing happened to me. I had my son on the back and hightailed it out of there.

Got the "Stink eye" from one other older dude. He must have been an HD guy.

WAY MORE positive feedback then negative though. Had a couple take my picture at a stop light today!!! That certainly wasn't the 1st time, and wont be the last.

Last year i stopped by a friend's house, His sons friend was there with his Harley, He pass a remark about the Spyder, I looked at his bike and said nice bike what is that a 883, [i know it's a 1340] From the top of his lung's he yells IT'S A 1340. Then i said gee it doesn't look that big, He pulled off in a huff. I bet he went and bought a bigger bike the next day.:D

Taking pictures at stop lights would be great. I am still not comfortable with the ones that race up next to you on the highway and then try to take your picture while at speed. :yikes:

Shame on you! You are probably right though. :roflblack:

I get more people approach me to ask questions about the Spyder than when I ride my much more rare MV Agusta motorcyle!
