• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Are we ALL old folks riding Spyders?

Interesting going from 38 to 48 in one year.. WOW.

Well I can add few numbers to that.
01010111

Have a great day...:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

YIKES! :yikes: A typo on my part! Was was really 101110 when I got it.

I never would have guessed you were 87! :D

Hey! Who you calling old here. :lecturef_smilie: :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

You didn't mention your age "SKS06460" :dontknow:

Not ashamed to mention my age, proud of it, 49 next month,
Is that what you call old?

I don't feel my age, I am a new young grandmother to a beautiful girl
:ohyea::yes::ohyea::yes::ohyea::yes::ohyea::yes::ohyea::yes::ohyea::yes:

49 is young

Most young riders wouldn't be caught dead on a three wheeler, not Macho enough, also the price doesn't help ether. For thousands less you can get a two wheeler that will run circles around the Spyder. I bough my Spyder at age 63 [I'm 65 now] I got it so i can ride every day though the winter. I got tired of parking my two Wheeler's in the bad weather, So i guess you can say i got it for safety reasons. I do take my Son's Busa out every now and then to keep the juices flowing.

Yes, which is why I end up riding alone..lol. Nah, my sportbike buddies still let me ride with them and I can still keep up unless they got something over 900. I have enough macho to go around..little too much as the little lady would say.

Many I ride with have HD's or HD compatibles.. so I'm the fast guy in the group.....:D

First question out of every younger rider's mouth is "how fast is it?"...

Which is really the mentality of stupid young kids anyway. BRP was not able or willing to put more power in the Spyder. If they had, they would reach the younger demographic that still thinks top end is everything. That said, if they put in more power and charge more, then it would be out of that age group's price range. The irony.

At 40, I like hanging out with the more mature crowd anyway.

Any 3 wheeled vehicle starts out with the long accepted 'Old man's ride' baggage. So it is not surprising that the Spyder has been tagged as such. It doesn't help that, uh, more mature people have really taken to the Spyder.

It gets critisized as a ride for people that can't handle a real motorcycle. And while this is true, it does not mean it is ONLY for those who can no longer handle 2 wheels. Quite the contrary. In my own case I own, can still ride, and love my Suzuki M109R. But I just don't ride it anymore because I enjoy the Spyder that much.

The truth is, the Spyder is just a lot of fun to ride no matter what your age or ability. It is also a much more versatile ride than most 2 wheelers.

I think BRP tried to break the mold with the sport model and a much higher 'Cool' factor but their success has been questionable.

Too bad, without this unwarranted misconception the Spyder would surely do better among the younger crowd.

My girlfriend's older than me...so I'll skip that one! :D

Polls are fine, but I find that the age of the average Spyder owner is most accurately determined through the carbon dating process.

:hun: Now I'm confused. Everyone I've dated has been carbon-based; how does that determine my age? Mind you I've dated the same woman for the past 22+ years, so maybe that's an indicator...:ohyea:

With the new riding permit in Québec. we are getting more and more young spyder owners...insurance are less than half, plates are 619 instaed of 1600$ on speed bikes...and driving courses are 250$ versus 750$....Sow are we going to see more crazy young drivers in Québec ....hhhmmmm ****!!! we had a good thing going....

don't consider myself young anymore..certainly don't feel that way but after 15 years of sport bikes..I have had my fill of stupidness. In this area, due to 10-11 months of riding weather..lots of squids out there that simply have not learned yet. Nobody is stupid, just don't know better yet. In which case, how can someone call you stupid unless you prove it from time to time..JK.

I guess whether you're old or not depends upon who you ask.

I'm 34, was 33 when I bought my Spyder.

I don't think I'm old (I got asked for an ID a couple weeks ago when trying to buy a LOTTERY TICKET ... she really thought I was under 18?) but my boyfriends teenagers sure do.
