There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Juice box issues

I installed juice box today and I am having some issues. Install went fine and no problems with wiring when 1st started. First ride my Spyder was very sluggish in all gears. Brought back and went online here and followed thread for juice box settings and reprogrammed juice box to recommended settings, 2nd ride same sluggish performance. Any suggestions.

welcome
What settings are you using? What mods are intalled on your Spyder?

What other mods are you running? What exhaust and intake setup?

Can you post what your current JB settings are at?

Make sure that you did not disconnect the vacuum lines:

Initial ride used stock settings

2nd ride
Set to Mode 2-3.5, Mode 3 3.5, Mode 4-3,
Mode 5-2.5, Mode 6-4.5

I have TB Single slip on exhaust and stock filter.

Those settings should work pretty good, although I run modes 5 and 6 much lower for quicker response. Not to ask a stupid question... but you are letting the bike warm up to temp before testing.... right?

I also saw a post that mentioned doing the MODE changes to the JB with the engine running. Can't say for sure if that makes a difference-- I've always done mine with the engine off.

Did you have the TB pipe on and run the bike before that way-- without the JB?

Vacuum lines attached, just checked.
I did mods with engine running - saw that from one of your posts on another thread.
I did let engine warm up for a little bit, but I just read another thread that suggests you let Spyder run for 15 minutes. I will try that now.

Let run for 15 min. took out for ride, same problem. I cant get RPM above 5000 when in gear. Max speed 45 mph. Idles fine and can rev engine to red line when in neutral

Sounds like it may not be installed properly. I can't remember exactly but I think the green light flashes a certain amount of times telling you it is working properly upon startup. You should be able to bypass the juicebox by disconnecting the ground.

Try double checking your electrical connectors, maybe one injector isn't functioning? If not, try unplugging and going back to stock, verify that it is a JB only issue. There have been reports of a couple of faulty JB's, maybe you got a malfunctioning one?..........

Agreed...the connectors really have to 'snap' into place...if they don't, they definitely won't work properly. The one on the left side of the bike is a little tricky...

Just a question?

dgshaffer you say you "took out JB, put back to stock - Spyder ran great. Rehooked up JB - Spyder was very sluggish. Has to be the Juice Box"
So if your spyder runs great without the juice box why are you trying to add one :dontknow: Don't make much sense to me.

I can't speak for dgshaffer but up until a few years ago [6 or 7?] I would add any thing that would give me just a little more ump. [ hp.] Most of the times it would work, a few times not. It was fun working on your own bike and getting a little more out of it. Now i just fix what needs to be fixed, But if i ever get a new Spyder i would keep the one i have now [08] and add every piece of speed parts i can fit on it. I really miss working on my bike, But at this time i like to ride and you can't work and ride at the same time.

My feeling is he thinks it runs great without the JB but also knows it could run even better with a good JB set correctly. And if he ever gets a free flowing air filter (and why not, lifetime filter for about what you'd pay for a factory paper filter) then the JB will be even more effective.

I love my JB!

I wanted to add a little more HP to the bike. When I said it ran great when put back to stock, I meant it ran great compared to the sluggish way it ran with the JB. Im sure that a JB that worked the way it is supposed too would give me that increase I am looking for. I will also get a better airfilter this week to increase performance as well.
Its alot of fun to mod your bike. Today I installed fender tip upgrade and LED day runner lights. Tomorrow I want to install triple play from Magic neon. I also have a corbin seat and fleetliner saddle bags on order. The Spyder is a great piece of machinery and why not customize. :2thumbs:
