• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just for grins I plugged my ipad into the RT yesterday just to see if it would work. It will play music but all you have is volume control, that's it. Not sure why that is seeing it's just an oversize ipod. :dontknow:;)

Heck, I would get rid of it then. Send it to me and I will give it to the recycling people:D:D:D

Thats interesting. Mine has not arrived yet. I ordered the 32 g broadband model. How do you like it so far Lamont?

I love it. I have the 32gig wifi only but I have a 3Gs that's jailbroke and I use MyWi as my hotspot when I don't have a connection. The browser is super fast and it great to show off your pics and video. Now all I need is the new iphone. :D

Ha!

You know better, Lamont!

Photo, web, phone (w/skype), video, iTunes music and apps, word processing, spreadsheet, presentations, email, ebooks...No use trying to avoid offending the PC users out there. It's way more than an iPod, and surely way more than a Kindle or a Sony eReader, and for practically the same price as either.

Also, in the time it took to read this, probably 500 new apps native for the iPad were probably being beta tested.

Apple's stock went up a record 90% this quarter. Wonder why...

Yeah, you guessed it: There's a spyderlovers.com sticker AND an Apple sticker on my truck window.

I've been a long time PC user but now all but one computer in my family is Mac. In the little over two years I've been using Mac's I've yet to have to reload the operating system, get a virus, have my computer run slow or have a major crash. I was reloading windows on my PC just about every 3 months before. All my programs on the Mac are true plug and play, not plug and pray. I just wish I would have made the switch years ago.

As far as the ipad goes, I love it for what I bought it for. It has it's shortcomings for sure but it serves me well and for answering emails and monitoring my boards on the go it's much better than my iphone even though I can get the job done with it too.

I find it works best for sharing pics and videos and with the Netflix app it really opens up the entertainment value. The screen is the perfect size for watching videos. The battery last forever on this thing, I wish my iphone battery lasted that long.

I do wish it had a forward facing camera for video chat, I use that pretty much everyday now on my Macbook and imac. Flash would be nice but that ain't happening. Multitasking will come with 4.0 and that will be great. I hate having to shut down my browser to check my mail.

Other than that I love the ipad. I haven't found the ipad "sucks" app yet but I'm keeping my eye out for that one, I'm sure it will be another great app to have. :D

And I bet you a nickel that that camera will be in the next version. Mr. Jobs probably really wanted to keep that price break, at least to start...

The other reason I like my ipad. I have both my RS and RT manuals on the ipad and they are searchable.:doorag:

The iPad also doesn't have printing capabilities, saving capabilities, expandable media slot for SD cards... that's what I wish it had... I'd love to be able to view photos I've taken during any given shoot, on the large screen instantly. No such luck. Maybe the next version. :dontknow:

You'd think for $500 - $900 you'd get the stuff already. For now I'll just get a laptop.

It does have a usb and SD card reader for pics.

I can share, save and print files from my ipad. There's an app for that. :D

Good to know that there is the USB for a card reader, but you shouldn't need a 3rd party app to do functions that should already be there (printing & saving). I am sure it's something that Apple is thinking about. They've always got something up their sleeves.

I don't see it any different than adding risers or hid's to a Spyder. There is always room for improvement on any product, even the RT can use a few. :D

I'm still looking for the ipad sucks app. nojoke
