If you look at the other closeouts on that same website there is another jacket listed for $49.95. A different style, but equally nice....it has YKK zippers which are top of the line.
I figure worse case scenario I am out another $40 which isn't bad at all. Hopefully she will wear it though.
They do have some other very good closeout deals as well. I didn't really want anything with a lot of black, as that seems counter productive when it comes to the summer sun. However, I do wish they were not out of stock on the Day-Glo Yellow jackets/
I also signed up for their email notices, so should be getting more advanced news of other specials like this.![]()
Make sure you share any deals you think we might be interested in.![]()
Thanks for posting the information about this sale! :2thumbs:
Are these jackets cooler than riding around in a short sleeve shirt? I have been trying to get my wife to try a mesh jacket but she says she doesn't want to wear one while ryding her Spyder. So, any convincing arguments that might help me out would be appreciated.
I think the key word is PROTECTION! Even though a mesh jacket is no match for a good leather motorcycle riding jacket and the chances of falling off a Spyder is less than falling off of a motorcycle, with only a short sleeve shirt on when/if it happens she could potentially kiss her smooth skin goodbye forever. Same thing goes for a good pair of gloves. Just ask any emergency room doc who has treated bike accident patients.
I have suffered from road rash in my day, and I thought she would have remembered that as well. I suppose that she still thinks the Spyder cannot fall over, and that is giving her the sense of security on it she feels. However, after talking to her some more about it yesterday and showing her the information SpyderGirl posted she is starting to come around. She has also noticed some spots on her hands and decided she needs to start wearing gloves, which is another thing I have told her from day 1.I still have a feeling she will be pulling the armor out of the jacket though. :dontknow:
On the positive side though, some is always better than none when it comes to riding protection.
