• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

So the Spyder is going through a change... of color that is. I am changing out the red and silver panels for Quantum Blue... but now I have a decision to make... paint the Corbin bags black or quantum blue... my trunk is going to be black, so I am leaning that direction. I am also considering making the front fenders black.

Let me know what you think.

Post up what combination you would consider...

Bags blue / fenders blue
Bags black / fenders blue
Bags blue / fenders black
Bags black / fenders black

Are you making the back fender blue? If you are, I'd make the front ones blue too. Keep the trunk & bags black.:2thumbs:

I like the new blue too. I was going to order all the panels and do the conversion, but it winds up around $1,400 and then I still would have to paint my bag panels and rear tail to match.

So I decided to buy some used panels for $500 from rshrimp and just have everything painted at the same time... perhaps even some other color.... dunno yet. My neighbor runs an autobody and paint shop and will hook me up on the painting....

On yours.... I would lean towards BLACK for the bags and BLUE for the fenders.

Please post pics !!!

Looks like most of us are thinking the same thing.

Yeah, the panels are going to cost me about $1,400 plus I'll have to get the bags painted, however I was quoted over $800 to get everything painted (not including the hood) and they couldn't guarantee a color match. :sour:

I'd rather be able to have everything match and just sell off my spare panels.

I will of course post pics as soon as possible. Right now the Spyder looks funny with a blue hood and everything else red, black, or silver. :roflblack:

Just looks like a Corbin Demo Bike...... :roflblack:

Also doing the Corbin bags in the Black should be an easier color match.... that's a lot of coverage to be 'off' if it was in the blue--- it would stand out like a sore thumb.

Actually, it looks worse.

And yes, that was also my thought. I also thought that making them black would "trim" the Spyder down a bit.

I really appreciate all the input, I'm in the hunt right now for a place to get the bags painted... so far the one place that replied said they don't paint motorcycle parts... seems retarded to me, but whatever. :dontknow:

Make sure they know how to paint plastic! Gotta add the right modifiers so it fill flex and not crack......

how much the white panels are going for? My vote is for blue fenders and black bags.

Good to see you posting again.

I think I read somewhere the going price for panels was $1200. :dontknow: If you look around, Donk, it may be Donk45, has a thread where his Spyder has been painted platinum white and looks very nice.

Thanks.

I was quoted $2k to purchase all of the white panels from a dealer. The white spyder isnt black and white, it's all white so there are more panels.

Anyway, I had mine painted White Platinum Tri-Coat (Ford/Lincoln color) for $1400.
