KewlMetal Risers

I received the new KewlMetal risers last Weds. I really like being able to adjust these risers 3 different ways. The install was really easy due to the fact I had 4" risers already on the spyder. It took a little more than 1 hour to change everything out. I noticed a big difference right away. No more wrist pain. Which was the main reason I changed to these risers. IMO Matt and Kewlmetal have come with a great design with these risers!

:2thumbs: Kewl!! I am anxiously awaiting mine. Ordered mon. and matt said they are starting on the 2nd production..so it may be a week or 2. I cant wait!! Post pics if ya can..I will when mine are installed.

:congrats:

I would also like to see the pictures, even though I am probably going to leave my bars the way they are for the sportiness of it.

Glad these helped with your comfort issues. That's exactly what they were designed for, that additional tweak that just gets them into your own sweet spot.

I am considering these, also. Found I lean way too far & put way too much pressure on my hands & wrists!
I need a more upright position.

I'm concerned these look a bit clunky on the bike. Also, anyone know if these void the warranty - considering the original bars have to be cut?
I also just got Kury ISO grips - do these extensions/risers accept the same size Kury grips as the original handlebars?

We took our first longer ryde of the season and I am now considering quite a few mods - including the handlebar/riser adjustments, highway pegs, etc.

welcome

The risers do not void the warranty. I also had major problems with pain in my shoulders and wrists with the stock bars. Risers make a huge difference, no matter which ones you choose.

considering the original bars have to be cut? :yikes::yikes: I`m looking at getting some risers also but I don`t know if I want to cut the bars.

If you choose risers that require the handlebars to be cut, new bars are relatively cheap to replace should you decide to revert to the original configuration, or sell the motorcycle while retaining the risers. As an alternative, Kewlmetal's original handlebar replacement (not their new risers), or the Helibars, do not require the bars to be cut.

I love the concept!:2thumbs:
Question?
If you have the Spyder City 2 3/8" Billet riser already HOW much added adjustability would these provide and NOT need longer cables?:dontknow:

Sarge707,
I'm not sure. This would be a good question for Mad Matt to answer. Get KM a call or send them a email or even better send a PM to Mad Matt. If I'm not mistaken. I think KM has longer cables if you need them.

Thanks for that suggestion - it's a good point.

I would still love to see more photos of the Kewl Metal adjustable risers. My hubby thinks they are just what I need for a more comfy ryde.
I think we may invest in them.

I am going to e-mail to find out if the Kury grips I got for Christmas will work on the the Kew Metal bars.

Yes the Kury grips will work IF you have not installed them already because they glue on.

It's hard to say. Kewlmetal's 7 inch handle bars don't need longer cables even when installed on top of the BRP 1 inch riser. The 7 inch handle bar is about equivalent to a 4 inch riser (just measured a little different). The nice thing about the adjustable risers is that if you pull them back as far as the cables will allow, then ride a little, you will see if you want more. Then you can order the longer cables from us and install them at your convenience without any down time. I have also found that the cable length issue depends a lot on if you have the risers up high, or laid back. The up high installation requires more cable length. You can lay them back and slide them towards you quite a ways before the cables get tight.

Thanks, Matt!
Do you know which Kury Grips work - same size that is recommended for stock Spyder handlebars?

Mine aren't installed yet - luckily we were waiting.

The 7/8 Universal ISO grips work. Kury 6240.

Matt

Matt,
Thanks for the clarification!
We just have to make sure this is the option for me (it's a bit of an "investment" I hadn't planned on or budgeted for). ;)
My muscles are yelling for some improvement!
