• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Installing mudflap lights

Having done these mods (and connected the whole thing to my Triple Play to have mudflap blinkers and brakes), I concur with the taking the wheels off. I used two car jack and did both sides at the same time. I also bought the LEDs from superbright LEDs, only to find that the good folks at Custom Dynamics had included a pair with my Fender Tips. If you're willing to wait until I get back home on Friday, I can send you the extra set.

Cool

I don't think I'll be able to get to hooking the lights up for a few weeks anyway, so I can wait! I'm thinking about just investing in a good jack because I'm also thinking about getting different rims in the next few months.

Update: carbon fiber mud flaps, they are giving me my money back, thank goodness!!

Here is a shortcut that does not involve having to remove the wheels, jack up the Spyder, etc... I am not a mechanic. I did this install two months ago and have quite a few miles on both dry and wet roads. The lights work great and the duct tape is still very solidly in place. It is a pretty simple solution:

1. Hook up the LED Mud Flap Lights to the front fender tip lights using the directions provided by No Magic Neon.

2. Instead of removing the front wheel(s), run the wire from mud flap light to fender tip light inside the wheel well as shown in the next picture.

3. Liberally spread sealant over the wire from mud flap light to fender tip light

4. Liberally spread sealant on the inside edge of the wheel well. Make the sealant bead wide enough to also adhere to the duct tape in the next step. Let the sealant dry on wire and on the inside fender edge for a few minutes until it becomes tacky but is still wet.

5. Adhere the wire to the inside fender well.

6. Cover wire with a good quality duct tape while the sealant is still highly adhesive. This will bond the duct tape to the silicone adhesive, covering the length of the wire. Make sure you also tape the wire to the mud flap to make sure it does not chafe on the tire.

Harber Freight have a really nice aluminum motorcycle jack with very reasonable price. Grab a 20% OFF coupon off the flyer and you can makeout like a bandit.

Here's one for $80, but they're not known for having the best quality stuff

ETA: Sears has two in the $80 - $90 range:

Cool

I have an $80 gift card from Sears, so I think I'll get the lift, but I still don't know if I'm going to take the tires off for the lights...

The sears lift

That Craftman lift has terrible reviews! Does anyone have one? Just wondering if it is worth getting.
