• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Thrush Glass Pak

Well, I just couldn't bring myself to spend $300.00+ for a "muffler".
Bought a 2.5inch 90, got it stretched to fit the stock Y pipe, bought a Thrush Glass Pak, modifying the exhaust end to look more like a motorcycle muffler, making a mild steel hanger, and paint the whole thing black. Stuck the glass pak on temporary last week end, right off of the Y pipe, and :yikes::ohyea::yes:what a sound!!! Couldn't take it for a ride since the muffler was sticking out the side about 2 feet!:roflblack:
My :spyder2: is pretty much black so it should blend in good. I'll try to post picts when done. Have never posted vids so that might be a bigger challenge. I think weight wise, I'll be a little lighter.
Bill of materials: 90 elbow=$6.50
Thrush Glass Pac=$23&change
Stainless band clamp=$10&change
Sound=PRICELESS

I like it! I always enjoyed doing mods just a little different and a whole lot cheaper and in most cases with better results. I was considering doing something like that when I discovered the HMF.

I already hear you when you come up the street, Your Valks are loud enough :yikes:

Video / sound clip please. Also, how much did you pay to have your Spyder painted black? Any full size pic's? If so, please post. Your bike looks awesome :firstplace: Thanks.

Thanks for the replies. Can't wait to get home and fab this "thing" up!
Should have something this weekend.
It's either going to be the greatest thing since sliced bread or trash can fodder.:dontknow:

You will either have to learn how to post a video, or I suppose I could meet you in Augusta sometime to go for a ryde. :D

Thanks for the kind words. Had a friend do it, $250.00. First time at posting picts. Hope it works.

Thanks for the extra pics and price info. Very Nice! I ride up in the N.Ga Mountains sometime when the weather is warmer. If you get up that way, PM me with your email address/phone so we can ride sometime.

When you paint...

the muffler and 90 black be sure to use the high temp black silicone paint. The b-b-q grill paint will not stand up to the temps on this pipe. I did some digital temps test and that 90 gets real hot.

No need to ask how I know the 600 degrees grill stuff won't work. You already know that answer.

I bet it does sound good! /Ken

I agree. I tried all types when I was making all of the muffler setups. This is the only one I found that worked:

Thanks for the paint info. Got it finished Friday night, just in time to put E.S.I 4" risers on Momma Spyder's :spyder:. Her husband rides a Harley and when I started mine up for him, he said that would be the next mod on their :spyder:. We are hoping to ride tomorrow(Sunday), but, with rain today and cold temps in the morning, not so sure. Can't wait to get it out and hear it on the road! If I keep it, I'll add a heat shield on the elbow and finish the exhaust end of the muffler. I can post picts, but as noted, it ain't quite done.

Your wish is my command!
Here ya go. Quick paint job(it was fire engine red!). If it is a keeper, I still have more to do to it.

:2thumbs:

That looks great! I am still amazed that you were able to do that for under $50. That is a good idea brought to life. To test it I think you need to run down Broad Street a few times and see if you get pulled over.
