No, but if you have a warranty issue later, BRP will ask you to prove the service was done with receipts. If you do your own first 3,000 mile Oil Change.... then at 9,300 and so on... not bringing to a dealer. Is the warranty coverage effected in some way? Like in HVAC companies signing up folks for a monthly wallet money pull so they have "maintenance" income???
Cool... I googled this but will still ask the dealer. Careful record keeping and proof is needed. No, but if you have a warranty issue later, BRP will ask you to prove the service was done with receipts.
On the spark plugs, not needed until you reach 30,000 miles! I replaced mine at 32,000 and found they were in great shape, could have waited another 10,000 miles! Definitely not needed at the first service! Are you having the spark plugs changed? Honestly not needed at less than 30,000 miles. I have 59,800 on mine with the original plugs!
My cost was around $420 at OffRoad Express in Erie, PA. Time spent was approx. 2 hours. I decided to change oil and air filter myself this spring, at 17225 miles.I am nearing the 9,000 mile checkup. The quoted price I received was for $800.00 and over 5 hours of labor. What was your experience/cost?
Head light oil must be a big job to do!!My shop did my 5 year service with spark plugs, head light oil, filter etc. Coolant for $500

Canadian. For you in the US, $300, oil change up here about $70 with filter.Head light oil must be a big job to do!!But that's not a bad price for the whole job!! Is that US $?
Is that $800 for the service items plus 5 hours of labor.I am nearing the 9,000 mile checkup. The quoted price I received was for $800.00 and over 5 hours of labor. What was your experience/cost?
The service included changing the spark plugs. Remove this option, the price was much more reasonable. Is that $800 for the service items plus 5 hours of labor.
Locally my dealer's labor charges are probably $150 ph, so that would be $750 of labor. If it's $800 including labor, something doesn't add up.
Sounds like you received an excellent price for the service provided.Just had my 10K check up this week. Was referred to an Independent shop that is owned by a Can-Am Certified Tech, with another CT on staff: VC Cycle in Indianola, Iowa. Oil/filter change (they stock the factory BRP synthetic oil/filter kit), an in-depth inspection of the bike including belt tension check, removal of front wheels to inspect brakes, a BUDS scan for any current codes/updates, and cleaning of engine and drip pan/skid plate in the oil change area. They identified front pads that are in need of replacement (less than 1 mm). Interesting that the Can-Am DEALER who did a brake fluid flush 2 months/2500 miles ago did not "flag" the pads as a watch item. But then, that dealer also spilled brake fluid during the work and had to replace a body panel.
Extremely Satisfied with the service and the price at VC. Highly Recommended if you are in the area. They will be my Go-To for all non-warranty work. Cost for the work, parts and labor: Less than $300.00
