I checked my mirror, turned my head, turn signal on. The left lane was clear. "Was" is the operative word. We came within inches.
.....
Highway 27 in Sebring, Florida. Lots of crashes occur on this road. I try to avoid it when I can and stay in the right lane unless I make a left turn.
I don't suppose it would do any good to send this to the sheriff.
I dunno about
that, but while it might be seen by some (usually those doing the wrong thing) as 'snitching' or 'dobbing', you can be
abso-freakin-lutely SURE that if no-one ever does/says anything, nothing will ever change! And your pics
DO clearly show the license plate/rego number of a vehicle that very much appears to be speeding and dangerously changing lanes in a way that could well have killed you...
Sure, nothing might come of sending it in, but maybe it will mean the driver gets a warning, or more. Who knows,
maybe that ^ vehicle was involved in a really bad 'accident' just a few minutes later and by some weasel wording, the driver of that ^ vehicle looks like getting away with blaming the other driver (who is
actually the innocent party?!), but your footage could help identify the
true cause of said 'accident', if only they had it?! Or maybe even if they did have it, the Sheriff's office would just file it in the circular filing cabinet, the one that's under each desk, you know, the one labelled 'trash'!

Who knows?!
But you do also know about that old saying, don't you?? It is a saying that has been attributed to a few different people, but regardless of who said it first, I reckon it still applies here - it goes something like this:
"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing"
So like I said above, if you say/do nothing, you can be
sure that nothing will ever change... and that might mean that you are the reason an innocent person gets charged/their life ruined for something the driver of that ^ car was actually responsible for - or not?!
Just Sayin'
