• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone purchased an OBD Tool for a 2023 RT?

Has anyone purchased an OBD tool that can read the fault codes on a 2023 Spyder RT? I’m looking for the details about what tool and if an adapter cable is needed. Thanks!

Page 41 of Operator's Guide for a 2023 Spyder RT says the diagnostic connector is under the Front Service Cover, and shows how to remove the Front Service Cover.

But, I'm pretty sure the diagnostic port is not an OBD-II port, but instead is a CAN-BUS port.

You don’t need one. The fault code reader is built in. If you have one active, go to your settings menu on the right hand display, scroll all the way down - keep going - to the item Fault Codes. It’s the last one. Navigate into the menu and read it. Has to be Active at the moment in time that you are reading it. Many have tried readers with an adapter, and not been able to read or reset codes, or look at history. BUDS will be required for that. The Spyder is not an OBD2 system. Don’t look up codes on Google.

OK, do you have any idea if the can- bus reader that works for BMW’s will also work for Spyders? I have a GS-911.

And Google says...

A BMW CAN-bus reader/charger may work for basic tasks on a Can-Am Spyder, but it is not recommended for full diagnostic functionality. While both use similar CAN-bus technologies, the proprietary software, data codes, and connector types often differ, preventing specialized diagnostic tools (like a GS-911) from working properly.

and...

Diagnostics: A dedicated BMW diagnostic tool likely won't read Can-Am specific engine or VSS (Vehicle Stability System) codes.

I would be very surprised if any other system will work with the Can-Am. BRP is extremely efficient at keeping everything they do proprietary. But if you discover otherwise, we'd certainly like to hear about it.
