• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Does anybody have a photo or sketch of how the Springs on the Stop light switch subject to the recall should look/be fitted, please?

I recently had the stop light switch recall carried out on my 2021 S2S. Afterwards, I lifted up my trike on my Big Blue lift so that I could see what was done. It does not look like the new springs are doing anything where they have been fitted. Does anybody have a photo or sketch of the switch and springs as they should be fitted please?

Many thanks Jetfixer. I could not see what the large coil spring on the cable side of the switch was for or helping. Do you think it is possible to change the switch without removing the large black side panel which has been removed in your picture as the wire connector block is high up under the fuel tank? When I took my bike in to the dealer, they did (or didn't) do the job in under 15 minutes.

Hey Flier. That larger coil spring on the cable side is a helper spring that assists in pulling the switch back in when you release the brake pedal. That was added by the recall. It wasn't there before. But, you have a 2021 RT. Per the Recall, you were supposed to get a new replacement Brake Light Switch, have it properly adjusted, and also get the helper spring installed. I’m not seeing any revisions to that. Sounds like you are asking if that entire job could be done in 15 minutes. Or put another way, you are questioning whether you got a new switch like you were supposed to, or if you just got the helper spring put on. Correct? The Recall allows 1.3 hours labor time, so 15 minutes would be pretty speedy. All I can say is, does your BLS look brand new out of the box, or is it dirty. Maybe look at the parts used on your copy of the work order.

It would be possible except for the fact that the wiring from the switch to its' disconnect is tie-wrapped much higher up on the side behind the black panel.

Hi Jetfixer,
Just an update on my situation. I have removed the large black panel and can see no evidence that the switch has been changed. I had previously removed that panel for another job and applied dielectric grease to the switch connector as it looked very exposed, while I could see it. The grease was still there and the inside of the panel was also dusty with no witness marks of a mechanics hand and arm being up there. I contacted the dealer's service manager, and he did not seem to care or be interested at all. I will remove the switch to get the part number over the next few days. I do have the number for the new part. Who do you think I should contact at BRP if it has not been changed? I bet they claimed the full time for the job and not the 15min. they took.
