There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Looking for a rider on their own Spyder to join me on an Eastern Canada trip to the rock in Newfoundland to circumnavigate that on Spyder in July! Also swinging by Cape Breton and PEI on the way there or return!? July being the warmest month of the year would be the best time to go! I have a 2019 F3 Limited with approximately 53,000 KM, it will have all new tires all the way around, and be good to go! Timeline, 2 to 3 weeks? I am looking for someone with the same minded touring ability. I am 63 years old and think 250 to 400 miles a day would be the average, checking in on all the sights along the way! Anyone interested? Please contact me!

It is a precious and sometimes rare thing to find someone that you can enjoy riding long distance with. Lamont was that person for me. I didn't realize how varied riding styles can be until I attempted to ride long distance with others.

Some of the best times of my life. Spyderpops was another kindred soul in the saddle. We put many miles behind us back in the day.

Ditto on finding the right partner(s) you can stand after a week or more on the road.
Endurance, slab/by-ways, need for speed, sights to spend time, cuisine, and accommodations - all become known pretty quick!

It would be a crap shoot to ask someone to join you on a long trek like that without riding with them a little before - you may get lucky and have a friend forever; or have someone you will want to dump halfway there. Good luck!!!

Yes, I agree 100% with everything you’re saying!! I do have a wing man who lives in Wisconsin and he has been with me all across the 48 states; a very good friend over the years. However, he likes to speed a lot, which gets a little unnerving and we have been pulled over by the police a couple times; fortunately, no tickets! However, he’s got four DUIs piled up, and he can’t come to Canada and refuses to have a lawyer look at it and get them pardoned! He doesn’t see the value of being able to come here for the cost of the Lawyer, so I have that problem! Got about 5 months and I will be passing through Toronto and Montreal where our largest populations are. I’m thinking someone from Quebec may want to join me as Spyders are probably the number one selling motorcycle in Quebec, as that’s where they are all made! I will see? If I have to go alone, I will!

You've got time to test ride with potential road companions. Traveling faster than you feel comfortable is a very important component. Some things should not be negotiable. I don't know that there are any perfect riding buddies any more than there's a perfect spouse. Compromise is always required. But there are (and should be) red lines that you are not willing to cross.

Good luck! If you find a partner, cherish it. I didn't realize what I had in Lamont until we were no longer able to ride together. Somehow, you think it's going to last forever. Now I'm thankful for the time, miles, and adventures that we had.

Agreed friends. Had a fellow from work. We travelled 20+ weeks a year for work and roomed together for most of those. I would ride up to his place in Charlotte and we would take the bikes on a road trip on our way at least once a year. Montreal for Three Rivers Race Track, Cincinnati and we would try to do mostly back roads on the way up and hit as many as we could on the way back. I miss him a ton.

I made that run in 2010. I rode to the Arctic Circle in Alaska the year before with couple of strangers. I suggested to two of them about riding across Newfoundland the next year and we did. Their riding styles were a bit different to mine for I like to ride more and stop less. My day riding would be 400-800 mile days depending on where I am at and what to stop and check out. You just adapt to what works. We all had a good time. Moose sausage links for breakfast in St. Johns is a good start to the day. Go to Cape Fear then you will be the fartherest East in North America. Cape Breton ride is nice scenery.
