I have a 2009 Spyder GS with a key that turns the ignition but the chip in it is not for that bike. So when I try to start, the screen says "BAD KEY". I took it to the dealer and they said they cannot program this key to this bike. I am reading something about buying NEW keys and being able to program them to the unit, is this possible? I think the reason most people have issues when they lose the key is that they don't have a key to copy the cuts onto but I have the cuts to make the ignition work, I just don't have the chips for it to work. Can someone with real experience please help? I don't mind buying new 2 new keys to get them programmed but I need to know if it's possible without having a current working chipped key.
