There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Any feedback on aftermarket seats - Ultimate vs Corbin?

I had a Russell made for mine. I currently own 4 bikes with one. 25+ years and over 300K miles, they still work for me IMG_4116.jpg

We have an Ultimate on ours. We are happy with both the comfort and the appearance. The only thing about the Ultimate that I don't like is that it raised me up about an inch.

I have the Ultimate seat. I do notice that I do not get as tired riding with that seat as I did with the OEM seat. It is a well-made seat and the details, i.e. the stapling etc. is of higher quality. Mine has heat and that is a nice thing to have. There are other differences in how the seat works on top of how it is made.

Overall, the stock seat compared to the Kenda tires, less than stellar shocks, and totally inadequate sway bar, is not too bad! I think BRP did a passable job on the stock seat in terms of looks, durability, and comfort; but the Ultimate seat is definitely a step up in terms of materials, again the seat detail work, and the pan. The pan is firmer and of higher quality than the OEM seat. In terms of overall looks, the Ultimate seat blows the OEM seat out of the water. I have the white ostrich on mine with the red/black Spider on it, and it really sets that bike apart.

Is it worth 2K? That's a lot of money for a seat upgrade. I would say that maybe the jury is still out on the price/value question, and I do question my sanity at times, but I judge most things by asking "would I do it again?" And I have to say to that, "Yes, I would!"

In terms of the Corbin, I know they make a fine product, but I do not have any direct experience with that seat.

Never lose sight of the fact that Ultimate and Corbin are effectively one-size-fits-all seats. Some riders will find them brilliant; some riders will find them ok; some riders will find them the same as stock. Sure, you might be one of the lucky ones, but the only way to guarantee all day comfort from the beginning is to buy a seat made to your particular build and riding dynamics. ;)

I gave my 2022 Sea To Sky seat a full season before I decided to go another route. A 6 day/2500 mile trip convinced me that I needed to try something else. The Sea To Sky seat foam is just too soft for my 230# body, and caused me to get hot spots after 100 miles or so in the saddle. I have a build date set in December with Day Long. I found a used heated RTL driver seat that I will send in, preserving my specific OEM Sea To Sky seat with specific cover design. That said, I have personally owned (4) Corbin seats on past bikes, and they all did their job nicely. I can say that Corbin will build your seat to your specs. They will alter riding position within limits. They will use various foam densities dependent on the riders height and weight. I was very close to pulling the trigger on a smoke bomber jacket leather/black vinyl side seat but decided to try my first Day Long. The bigger seating surface called my name a little louder. Now I just have to nail down material choices. I have several vinyl/leather/sunbrella samples on the way. Sadly, I won't be able to put it to the test until early April 2025 :( :)

Just out of interest, Troop - so Corbin will tailor your seat via foam densities etc to requirements you give them, but I assume they won’t “guarantee” that they will be comfortable on long trips? I’m not belittling Corbin, they make a good product that many love, but it does still appear to be luck of the draw whether you get an all-day comfortable seat.
It will be interesting to see how the Daylong/Corbin comparison works in your case as you are obviously an experienced and happy Corbin user.

Two of my Corbin's were standard, and two were ordered with my prescribed desires. All four worked well for me, with no modifications needed. They will make modifications, but once you buy it, you own it. That said, I am fully committed to an altered seat, as I just purchased a take-off RTL seat to send in. I still have a Dec 30 build date set with DayLong, although I have been in contact with Seth Laam. I am 80/20 with DayLong. Interested in trying out a nice tractor seat? :)
