There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. HD STILL can't get their tune up right!

Yes, I know that the post is being light hearted and no malice is being said. However, in defence of HD, and being an owner and rider of six since 2000, I can say that I had no problems at all riding across Death Valley at 126 degrees; Key West to the Arctic Circle within six months; across Newfoundland and most of the lower 48 states. Not even a tire issue. Did a 11,800 trip without an oil change and did not have to add any oil... Just saying.

Most of the H-D bashing comes from those who never even owned one. Heck, a big chunk of Spyder riders started on Spyders...

I have owned five HD's, also owned many makes of other motorcycles. Had many GW's which I loved. Like my Spyder, really enjoy it. I just don't understand why you would what a noisy bike that you sit there and rev up and hear a mile away. If you take long trips, it has to be a pain in the ear, for you and the people you ride with. If you want to drive five miles to your local bar and sit there all day, I guess it would be ok, just not for me - I like it quiet. The day I wrote that comment, I was in town and about ten were going through, and every light they stopped at they just revved them up, I guess to... who knows?!

Our shop is on a busy corner in a relatively small town in Tennessee. No one here believes in mufflers. I was at the local muffler shop awhile back and they told me they get more work taking mufflers off new cars than they do putting mufflers on old ones. I think these people take the mufflers off and then cruze by our shop all day.

The Harley guys come by (not all of them mind you, but the ones you notice) with their stereo cranked up like a rock band so you can hear it blocks away. Probably still can't hear it at speed though. Personally, I just don't get it. I don't ride to annoy people. And maybe I'm wrong. But that's all it seems to accomplish for many.

I like a bike to growl when you nail it and purr when you're cruising. I play my music (on the occasions that I do) in my com unit earphones. I don't expect that everyone wants to hear it.

Just to be fair, it's not always a Harley rider. I just can't remember a case when it wasn't...

Ron, how many delete pipes do you sell? Lol

We sell quite a few, actually. With the stock muffler they aren't all that loud. But I get your point. I'm not against louder than stock. And the Cat is not the muffler, though it does work to reduce exhaust noise due to their restrictive nature.

However, pair a cat delete with many of the aftermarket mufflers and you can get obnoxious if that's what you want.

Note Added:
We will do things for customers that we don't necessarily agree with. I suppose it could be seen as a revenue thing. But we actually look at it as a customer service thing. We've added, what we consider to be, overly loud mufflers. We advise the customer of our concerns but if they are sure, then we do it.

Now, when it comes to safety, we reserve the right to refuse to make an unsafe modification. And there are products which are not necessarily safety related, but are prone to fail, throw codes, cause 'Limp Mode', or otherwise disappoint which we will not install.

Mine's loud enough with the cat delete pipe or as some call it, the primary muffler, and the stock secondary muffler or Can. I like it, but its louder than most bikes. Particularly when you pin the throttle hard.
Why BRP calls it the primary muffler I'll never know. Mufflers, as far as I know, don't help with unburnt fuel. Catalytic Converters do. And that so called muffler looks exactly like any Catalytic converter I've ever changed out, with the exception of a downstream O2 sensor, so maybe they get their nomenclature from that aspect? IDK.

Are you running it with the baffle? Mine changed the tone a bit but not much on the volume. It did drastically reduce the heat coming from underneath at low speeds.
I hate loud pipes. I have repositioned myself in group rides and even dropped out when I get stuck behind one.

Made a few long distance trips with a good friend that had a Soft Tail Heritage with Cobra long shots. After maybe 40 min to hour following him I kindly requested he follow me. And I wear ear monitors to my comms. My question for some time has been, if loud pipes save lives, they point backwards so how is that helping? Shouldn't you turn them around to announce you're coming, instead of leaving?

100% agree Ron. It's our choice if we want to make changes. I know for a fact your statement is true, and I will continue to use your services. I totally respect you as a shop owner, and your whole crew is outstanding. It be a real boring world if we couldnt make the changes we want.
I was just ribbing you on the loud exhaust thing.
Peace out . :-)>

That being said, I don't believe my input on anything I have ever commented on in this forum has been appreciated. I guess my way of riding, use, and experience does not align with what most people on this forum considers right. I'm just a guy who loves motorcycles and making improvements on my rides.
It's all good and I will refrain from making any more entries or input from my riding habits or what I believe. I'm most definitely the minority here and I understand that. I'm from a family that has been riding motorcycles since 1915 and we all made changes to our bikes and we've all survived. I will continue to pursue my happiness in my motorcycling endeavors, but I will no longer provide my input on these matters.

Dasmoetorhead... please reconsider. I've only been on this forum for a short while but the contributions made by riders from across the spectrum of riding styles (mild to wild) has always made for interesting reading.

How can you say that Das?? Haven't you seen all the Thanks and Likes on many of your posts?? :dontknow:

And you should also be aware that statistically, those who do that are probably less than 1/15th of the members actually thinking it - some members simply won't know about how to do that, and others just don't do that sort of thing for anyone ss a matter of principle! But I'm sure there's heaps out there, me included, who appreciate ALL of your posts, even if we don't always agree! :lecturef_smilie:

Just remember that simply because someone might not agree with you, it doesn't mean they hate you or think less of you for it - if they didn't want your opinion and feedback, they wouldn't ask for it &/or they probably wouldn't be here on this Forum - one of the great things about sites like this is that we can have a range of opinions and shared experiences, hopefully without getting into bun-fights about them. And even if (or maybe especially if?? ) I say it from a Moderator's point of view, I feel that we don't have too many members getting personal or attacking others about their differences here - I reckon there's FAR fewer people doing that sorta thing here than on just about every other site I've ever been involved with/posted on! And I don't do those other 'social media' sites where it seems to be mandatory & par for the course!! There's no point in it! :banghead:

So even if other people aren't jumping on the boards saying they agree (or disgree) with your posts, they're out there; your posts ARE appreciated and taken on board, and this place would be all the less if you stopped posting! nojoke

Besides, we don't 'delete' any accounts here on this Forum, you can choose to stop posting if you wish (but Please, don't do that!) and while there might be a few who are put on different periods of 'stoppage of posting' for a variety of reasons, but unless you're a spammer/scammer, we basically just don't delete accounts here! ;)

Attention *** are gonna do what attention *** do. It's all about getting attention.

Whether it's making noise on your motorcycle or with whatever machine you drive/ride, or with crazy hair colors and/or makeup, or with outrageous behavior. These people crave attention and get it one way or the other.

Must have something to do with their childhood...

Not going to try and talk you out of anything, you'll do whatever you want to do. I have seen you over on TrikeTalk. Nice group but a bit shy on Spyder stuff. Maybe you can change that. I do hope however, that you will change your mind and consider continuing to make your comments here as you see fit. Tho they may not be acknowledged, they are part of the essential fabric that makes this such a good forum, and you would be missed.

In my humble opinion, that would be a mistake. 'Average' and 'Majority' requires that there be outliers on either end. Being an outlier is just part of life. I've not seen a post from you that I would designate as such. But that's not the point. The point is that very few of those who agree with you will ever say so. But the vast majority of those who disagree will.

I enjoy positive feedback. Who doesn't? But I post with the idea of helping or encouraging, when I can. And warning when I think it will be the best advise. I know opinions vary and sometimes I'm just plain wrong. But I never take it personal, even if it is meant to be. Because that's doesn't get us any closer to where we all want to be.

My request is that you hang in there and stay for those who appreciate you. Because whether they say so or not, they are out there.

Thanks to all that responded. I do appreciate it. I thought about it last night.
I went for a nice mind clearing ride today, and re-evaluated my posts.
I know we all don't agree on everything and that's fine.
I am very new to the whole Spyder culture (1year), and I've learned a lot.
Sometimes I read to much into things, and with only a Keyboard and emoji's I find it difficult at times to decipher the actual stance a person is trying get across. For me face to face is always better. I'm as guilty as the next person. I'll work on it.

Now about those Harley guy's that can't get their bikes tuned up and need to Rev their engines at stoplights.
But 1st back to my stance on exhaust noise.
I'm not going to bore you with my mechanical ability's but in short, I've been doing it my whole life.
For me, the mechanic/motorhead, I like all types of exhaust sounds. I love to hear a well-tuned engine, be it a motorcycle, car, truck, boat or airplane. I like to hear them with after-market exhaust systems. I also like a powerful quiet exhaust on a vehicle such as an un-molested Hyabusa. I actually do like the sound of my F3S in its stock form, and also with the primary exhaust removed. When I'm running an aftermarket exhaust, which are usually louder than stock, I don't beat my chest at stoplights or act like an idiot. I always try not to purposely make noise. Particularly in a residential area. I don't like or condone this activity. On the other hand, I'm a gearhead and I enjoy the sound. That's who I am.
I also understand that some people are not gearheads or enthusiasts of loud vehicles. I get it. Can't please everybody.
So in closing, thanks for listening, and in the future, I'll try not to be annoyed by people who are not exactly aligned with what I believe in.
Thanks for listening and understanding who I am.
Cheers & Beer's. :-)>

I have an attention ****/biker who lives two houses away from me. When he's not making noise on his HD he's doing other annoying things to get his attention fix.

Saturday night was his chance to get noticed, again. The ******** had a ******** party and set-up a large display of fireworks, mortars/rockets and the like.

Here comes the night and the noise. The moron was getting his attention alright, right up to the point where LEO was called and put a stop to his stupidity.

This is the same guy who proudly displays a confederate flag on the front of his house...

We're in northern Illinois...
