• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Ridenow Powersports Jacksonville will not service - any bike shops that will?

Thanks for the information. I've looked close at the bike and see where most of the screws are but does the mirror come off the same as the RT. This is my only hold back at doing the repair myself plus unable to find the parts on line. Have not gone to the dealer to see if they have them. And another think rode it yesterday 35 miles with out any smell. Maybe hot weather and a sticking valve are my thoughts now.

Highly unlikely. It's much more likely that you have a bad fuel line that is leaking intermittently. We've had Spyders come in spraying fuel from a cracked fuel line.

Every parts store in America is going to have replacement for that. And BRP still carries the fuel filter since it hasn't changed in 16 years. You don't want to let a bad fuel smell go unchecked. If it finds an ignition source, it could be a big problem.

I cut off the OEM Oetiker fuel line hose clamps with my dremel and a cutoff wheel. I bought the tool to install new Oetiker hose clamps and used it on the coolant hose also when I installed fresh coolant.

Service manuals for Spyders are relatively inexpensive, and well worth the cost if making your own repairs.

Parts for a 2014 are available. I bought this 2014 RSS a few months ago that was missing more than 20 parts. I bought some parts on ebay and ordered many new parts. The new parts took about 2 weeks to arrive, but they were all available.

Good information SpyderC. Here's the thing, some of us have reached that point in that it has become difficult to do the routine maintenance, you know, oil and filter change, even air in the rear tire. So the answer for some of us is the dreaded trip to the dealer and who knows if they are doing a decent job.....Since us 'old timers' do not want to give up the Spyder pleasure of riding, slowly slide between the rock and the hard place. Of course not a solution for the forum, jus sayin, we all reach the hang up the saddle time. AT 91, fortunately I'm not there just yet, but it approaches. I thank you for the read.
