• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is there a brake light recall now?

Got my letter over the weekend. I'm going to call the dealer and schedule it. What a pain but definitely needs to be fixed. I'm also going to ask about the sprocket. My original was replaced with the white one so I want to know if that one is still good or if that also needs to be updated.

AT least y'all are able to schedule an appointment. I called my dealer yesterday, and I was told to "drop it off" on Tuesday (they're closed on Monday).

He tells me that they will have it back to me "by Wednesday afternoon." I do not feel good about this arrangement.

I will update when it's done.

Me too. But thanks to this Forum, I called BRP two weeks ago, and was told that my VIN was in the recall. I Called the dealer (I just bought this 2020 in Late Feb this year), and they had me in their owner database, and yes they knew of the recall. The went ahead and ordered parts.

I got my recall email from BRP yesterday. 2 weeks after I got the spring installed and 3 weeks after I called my dealer to schedule the appointment.

Called to get my switch on order. Was told they need to see the bike before they can order it. Then of course wait for it to arrive. Have to wait two weeks for first appointment. No appointment time given as on the day its first come first serve. Said should only be about an hour wait. I'll see about that. Trip planned a week later, more throughout the summer. Paddy

Had mine done yesterday was in and out in about an hour, not sure how long it actually took because I demoed a Goldwing.

Would anyone happen to have the part number of the spring by itself?

I have a new 2022 RT-L, and the two dealers near me are not confidence inspiring. I'd rather buy the spring online and install it myself.

Thanks!

You will find that unless the recall is done, checked off, & reported to BRP/recorded against your Spyder's VIN by a dealer, it won't be recorded as ever having been done on your Spyder, which may make a significant difference if/when it ever comes to resale time &/or you have an accident that the brakes may have contributed to...

Effectively, once something becomes a Recall, it MUST be done by a Dealer to satisfy the legal requirements surrounding recalls. :sour:

Just Sayin'

Had it done last week... about a two week wait for parts before taking it in.
