• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Has anyone given their Spyder a "Name"???

Not exactly the name of the Spyder, but the "WANDRN" tag has been on all my scooters since about 2005. It was on a 2001 Sporty I built, for about 18 years.

Now it on my 2019 F3-S.

To make a long story short, I got a reputation for just wandering, because I would just turn in roads that looked interesting to see where they went. Usually with 2 or 3 other bikes following me. Found some very interesting places, but also found some places that were dead end, or turned into dirt trails.

Seems ours is named “ The Spyder”. As in, “do you want to ride the Spyder to get groceries, or do you want to take the Spyder and get ice cream?”.

So no real name for ours...

StormTrooper …..because it is white and reminds me of Star Wars.

Ours being Pearl White, with black accents, I joke that it needs color to remove the Stormtrooper look about it. Then again, since buying it new in Jan of 2014, I have not done it yet, and may not...

NAME OF YOUR SPYDER
After reading another thread posting about naming your Spyder, I posted the following and thought in may be appropriate to re-post it in the GENERAL DISCUSSION AREA. I have started a list of the names of Spyders from this thread. If others would like to provide your Spyder names and reasons, I will keep it on an excel spreadsheet and make it available to those who may want it. You may either post it here or send me a PM with your info.

My 2018 RT Limited is known as the: BIG F

I still don't understand the rationale for naming inanimate objects. If I owned a boat I would call it "the boat". I call my SUV "the Durango", my Mini Cooper "the convertible", by Subaru Outback "the Subaru", my Honda scooter "the scooter" and my 2021 RT "the Spyder". My brother has a neighbor who names her car, and who asked my brother to come by and check on it while the neighbor was away on vacation because "she probably is lonely in the garage". I told my brother to be very, very careful around the crazy woman.

Unofficially, the "Old Blue Chair."

Yes there is a story. Riding buddies giving me good natured grief about switching to 3, calling it my wheel chair. Also, while not a huge Kenny Chesney fan, I like most of his island songs, so it fit, kind of. I wanted my plate to be BLU CHR, but it was too many letters.

Most every day it is just "The Bike." (Just like every previous motorcycle we have owned.)

My F3 gets called all manner of names from time to time.

Like when I skin a knuckle or l find a stubborn bolt or so. :gaah:

I wanted to name ours Nicky... as in "Nicky full throttle" from the lyrics in the song Bang Bang. But my wife is having none of that, so no name yet. I named my Jeep Sue, from Johnny Cash's "A Boy Named Sue". Made sense, since I figured it would get made fun of because I only put a 1.5" lift and 33" tires on it.
