• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What parts & oil needed for Changing oil in 2012 RTL semi-auto?

Basically, I'm looking for a DIY oil change sticky or something like that. I'm not having much luck finding one.

I have seen a good "how to" video on YouTube before, and I'm sure I can find it again.

I'm looking for additional information, such as parts I will need, where to get them for a reasonable price, which motor oils are good, etc.

I'm about to do it for the first time.

Because your Spyder runs the 998 V-Twin motor, you need to search back a fair bit to find the applicable threads, but they are there. Here's a post added in reply to a thread asking much the same question back in 2018 - I don't know if the vids still work, but the info is here, IF you go back far enough - after all, the V-Twins ended production back around 2015/16

there are several. This took 30 seconds.

And here's another thread with some handy pics:

The first think you need to do is determine which HCM filter you have. It is almost assured you have the Extended filter. But there is still an outside chance you are still using the Original HCM filter. Measure the length of the HCM cap. It is attached to the finned portion of the transmission. If the cap is 7/8" long, then you have the original. If it is 1-3/8" long. You have the extended. You will need to get the correct filter or it will not work.

If you need more information. Let me know.
