• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

This isn't very helpful - BRP closing 1/25 til mid-February!

Just saw this on a major Can Am parts dealers website.

NOTICE: BRP will be closing temporarily on 1/25 till mid-February. There may be a brief delay in shipping select parts and components until operations resume. Call for parts availability.

:hun: What Goes?:dontknow: Hold our breath & wait!:helpsmilie: :gaah:

They must be taking inventory of the parts they DON'T HAVE!

In this day and age with computers and scanners, 2 weeks seems like overkill
for "Groundhog Day"

Can-Am Parts House has this message on their website: "Expect delays in shipping between Jan 31st and Feb 5th due to BRP maintenance."

They closed for inventory and their Boss Ordering System is being updated. It was announced in early December. The dealers had to have any orders for parts in by 1/20. All parts ordering is temporary stopped in the system 'til the inventory is done, which will take 2 weeks. Polaris did it in December. Your dealer should have known this. Old news; it’s not just Spyders, it’s everything from plane parts to SkiDoo to Can Am and SeaDoo. They have been saying since last fall they were holding inventory so everything would be shipped complete. That’s why their parts website changed last fall.

Thanks for the info. I thought that maybe they were closing either for vacations, or to switch product line production. Either way, it's a inconvenience when you need parts.

Operations, manufacturing, service, warranty, sales and fabrication of parts are not affected by this. “Only” parts ordering. If parts are at a dealer or vender they may sell them. Just can’t order anything or have access to who has what for right now. Actually I think it’s a good move. Now they know exactly how many units can be made for early season pre buys. Which goes back to dealers were only able to buy a “set or reduced established” amount of units and guaranteed them this year. Production may be cut back as in the number of units being produced but they are at least getting sent out complete. They can’t do anything about the accessories that are coming overseas not being produced. That’s why accessories are the hard things to get now. At least the STANDARD BRP machine is complete.

Questions

My question is, What about the BRP Clothing, and accessories for sleds?

Are we still able to place orders of the above at the dealers?

Are they doing inventory on the clothing and accessories?

I was wondering!!!!

Accessories are not able to be ordered right now Deanna for sleds. They were talking about that on dootalk. I don’t know about clothing but I would assume that anything ordered at a dealer uses boss and that is down for the time being. They are totally updating the system and uploading all accurate numbers. I’d think most dealers already received their clothing orders by now. Mine all goes on sale in 2 weeks even though this has been the crappiest winter I can remember. I know you guys got snow Thursday and Friday so you are just starting up over there. It hit 40 again today and rain. Down to 1 inch again. Norther NY is closest around here with anything with ok conditions. I’d call your dealer. Look at skidoogear.com if yours doesn’t have it.

That lines up with what BRP said last week, Passenger Arm Rest that have been on order for months are expected to ship Feb 15. Hope so ...

Old news.it’s not just spyders it’s everything from plane parts to skidoo to can am and seadoo.
Not that it's a big deal, but just FYI, BRP does not make or handle plane parts. Airplanes are part of Bombardier, Inc. BRP is Bombardier Recreational Products dba BRP, Inc. BRP was split off from Bombardier quite a few years ago. Bombardier also makes commuter railroad equipment.

Thank You

:coffee:...Thank You for the update. We were going to order some parts for our Spyder. Then saw that there was some kind of delay. Nothing was said about the delay.
I will just wait until BRP goes back to work.

Hopefully just a week or two.

Stay Healthy. ....

Hi Wmoater,
OK.

I stopped at my dealer last week( on Friday Jan. 27th) to see what they had for(Ladies) clothing and they didn't have anything in stock what I was looking for ( I even looked on-line at a different site), so they ordered 3 pieces of clothing they give me a call either on Tuesday or Wednesday.

The dealership I went to on Friday has all of their accessories/clothing marked down to 30%. We still need more snow for the trails.
Thanks for the website, I'll take a look.

Any reason why they closed this? And such a long vocation. What's the reason that deals are available and also inventory is closed? There are already the new year vacations and in more, they closed for mids February which is too much.

I worked for a company that closed its headquarters (in Germany) for two weeks each August. Most of the other parts of the company (one of the world's largest) delt with it and kept running.

I believe that's pretty much the norm in Europe for all major employers.

Update: I was talking with a friend in Washington State that put a deposit on a new 23 in September.

Her dealer said he would happily refund her deposit if "any issues" came up. Current delivery is supposed to take place this month.

She also questioned the dealer about the "inventory" close down. Dealer said it was NOT inventory, but a new computer system to make things move along better at BRP. That is supposed to be completed in seven days. Ten days if they have any "glitches."

Don't get mad at me please. I am just passing on some information that I just found our this morning.
