• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Electrical plug under the seat?

I took the seat off so I can install a backrest and I had to unplug an electrical wire going into the seat, anyone know what that is for?

What the heck is that?

It is a sensor that tells the Spyder's "brain" that you have a passenger. It will use the data it supplies in calculating a bunch of things - especially in the Nanny stability events.

I don't know for sure, but I am pretty sure you will get an error if it is not plugged in. A couple of after-market/custom seat makers have passed on the Spyder because of this sensor.

It's like the seat sensor in modern cars that tell if there is a passenger to switch on/off the airbag or the seatbelt warning lights.

I recently stripped the Spyder down to take it over to a friends shop for my 12K service. I have a Corbin seat and it is in 2 parts. I thought that I would leave the passenger seat behind for the day. OH NO. The Spyder would not start without the wiring for passenger sensor plugged in. :gaah:
Who would have guessed :dontknow: Live and Learn
