1971 Rickman Yamaha with originally installed RT2 360cc engine, full period correct rebuild enduro race bike, street tagged, one of only 39 produced.

Currently own the OSSA, the Scorpa, the KTM 495, and the Rickman.

First bike was a 1951 Matchless 500, I weighed in at about 100lbs back then.
Like bigbadbrucie it was fun watch the big guys try a start it, made a few bucks watching them try.
Can't remember all my bikes, but here are a few.

Nothing like the long list of some but enjoyed all of them.
First bike (71 model I think) Benelli 125 Trail 2 stroke with no oil injection so you had to premix the fuel
1972 Benelli Tornado 650S - scared the crap out of me the first time I rode it but what a great bike. Still have it but needs restoring.
Montesa 123 Cota that I rode some comp trials on but progressed to be a swinger on a friends Yamaha TY250 trials outfit
Suzuki 750 water bottle powered home made outfit with sidecar driven wheel that we crossed Australia east to west on (full disclosure, a friend who was a toolmaker was the brains behind it I was the assistant). We built 2 of them and named them EWX-1 (Paul's) and EWX-2 mine which stood for east west crosser.

Have had only 2 motorcycles before the Spyder. 1982 Honda Ascot FT500 in Monza Red. First time I had ever bought a motorcycle and my first time out popped a long wheelie (not on purpose) and sold it 6 months later. Second one was a Honda 90 trail bike (street legal) and had that about a year. Fast forward to 2019 and saw my first Spyder while on vacation. Talked to the owner, saved up my pennies and in 21 bought my first Spyder, base F3.

I feel way more stable on 3 wheels than 2 and the wife said she wouldn't get on a 2 wheeled motorcycle. Painful $$ wise but am enjoying it.

Well, we’re having another scorcher here today, temps (in your language) in the high 90°’s to low 100°’s. Damn, just too hot for this oldster (just not accustomed to temps this high. Anyway, sitting inside where it is also too warm, I got to thinking about the different bikes I’ve owned, and one that stands out in my mind was back in ‘86 when I purchased a brand new ‘86 Yamaha 1100cc Virago. Black unit with dark red and gold coloured pinstripes and trim. It was a real classic looking bike.

The signature tells it all. Started late in life with 360 Hondas. Read all the touring bike magazines with articles from folks like Roger Hull. Wife even wrote an article for Touring Bike Magazine in 1977.

My very first was a Yamaha 80, one lunger. Bought a one year old, but new, model. I paid $328 for that one. And, it looked a whole lot like your 250 above. Mine was white.

Crap you are all making me feel older than I feel..... My first 2 wheeled motor vehicle was a 1949 Wizzer Motor Bike

I rode that to school and everywhere else from age 12 to14 when I got my Cushman Scooter.
At that time 1955 you could get a drivers Lic. at 14. Since then I have owned and ridden well over
35 motorcycles.

My first "bike" was a 2005 Tomas Moped... 50cc motor kited to do 70kph. I was turning 50 and decided if I didn't learn to ride now... when would I??

Bought a 2008 Honda Shadow Aero as my first actual bike... Learned to ride and while still a novice took a run from Toronto to Glacier/ Yellowstone/ Sturgis with two buddies who had a LOT of experience... got me hooked
2007 Yamaha Star 1300... had that bike about 2 weeks before I totalled it coming home from work in a light drizzle
2009 Harley Superglide Custom which I rode all over North America on... added a tour pack off a Road King, and a Batwing fairing and put 130000km on her until it started wearing out
2009 Yamaha Royal Star Venture ... loved the ride but the weight in parking lots was becoming too much
2018 Spyder RTL that was a demo at a dealer 1500 km away... hadn't even sat on one, but the deal was so good I flew up and rode it home. 35,000 km on her and at 67, still rolling every chance I get!!

Mini bikes as a kid. Mom said no motorcycles if you're living here so it was a big time gap for 2 wheels. Got a '72 CB350 for free when I was 30 when becoming single again. Got it running and got my license on it. Needed more bike so a '75 CB750 was next. Rode it a long time until budget could afford another bike. New '01 Road King was next. Still riding it as wife's F3S along with the long-time snowmobile habit stopped any bike upgrades. F3 is in my future as the RK is starting to get too heavy to happily deal with at 68.
I rode Spyder prototypes at a snowmobile dealer before the first release and yeah these are fun stuck in my head as it's a sled on the road for my later years.
Dang I'm in my later years now, how did that happen? LOL

My older brother, who just passed 4 weeks ago at 83, said he was in a meeting of men many years ago. One of the gentlemen was in his 90's. Someone asked him if he had any sage advice about getting older.

"Not really. Well yeah, there is one thing I'll recommend. If you get a chance to die in your 80's, take it!"
