There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Methinks this a fair price. Depending on the area and the dealer, that would be 2.0 to 2.5 hours.

Who makes the 2" riser? Is it a cut the bars riser or the billet aluminum riser insert?? I,d be interested in the 2" as a winter project!! LOL:spyder:

It's the OEM riser block. Some call it a 1" riser some call it a 2" riser. It's physically 2" but it raises the bars 1".

I believe they are available from Spyder City, a site sponsor. See the home page for a link to their website. You do not have to cut the bars. It just gives you an extra inch over the BRP 1 inch riser. It is on my long term mods list, but so are a lot of other things that I can't afford right now. Unfortunately Santa is broke too.

I tried to install the risers myself and the bolts to remove the handlebar are almost impossible to get to, so I took the Spyder to the dealer and they installed the riser for $80, it took them about an hour.

Yes, I called them and they have a Billet 3" and 2 ". I tried to install the 3" billet riser and after 2 afternoons and about 5 hours gave up, put it back together and they sent me the Anti Vibe inserts in exchange for sending the riser back. SPYDER CITY are Good people!!!!
It can be very frustrating BUT I may try again as I have several hours experience Now? LOL I will have Jan and Feb to complete the job if I re-order@!!

By the way, after the installation was complete I asked the service guy how he was able to get under the handlebar and remove the cover, he said he had to take the front panel off to get to the bolts, so maybe try that and see how it works for you.
If you can return them i would. A 1" rise in my opinion is a waste of time and money. Get the NMN 3'' or 4'' risers. But if you can't return them, well anything will be an improvement over stock. As far $165 go's who knows? Every dealer has over head, some have more than others.

You can get to those bolts under the handle bars - go to OSH or some other hardware store and buy a "low profile" socket set. The socket actually sits inside the rachet head and only protrudes about a half an inch at most. The set I got cost less than $20.00. It took me about an hour and a half to do the job...the 1" rise was enough to take the pressure off my neck and shoulders. I am 6'0". Pat

:agree: I also used a low profile socket set and it sure helped a lot at getting at those bolts. It's about a hour to hour and a half job. The 1" rise for me meant no more throttle hand falling asleep, however on our long cross-country trip I decided that I need a little more rise to take the strain off my upper back and shoulders. I am putting on the 4" NMN risers instead.

I had the 1" OEM risers first...they were 'okay', but adding the 3" ESI risers are a vast improvement...they also really cut out vibration...they look good on the bike too...
Being you can rotate them for comfort, it is easy to maximize the position you find most comfortable...

Hopefully you can help me here. I will try again and I have a ? about the bolts under the steering handlebar cover?
I see 2 10MM Bolts (together ) in the front middle near the seat. These require a low profile.
I see 2 bolts (One near each hand grip) that are 8MM and are easy to get at!
Thats all the Fishe I downloaded shows under the bars??
Are there 2 more bolts ? If so where and what MM??

I don't know what the going rate is, $165 sounds pretty steep. I actually had my dealer install a 4'' riser (aftermarket) and he didn't charge anything since I was buying some other accessories from him (expensive).:f_spider:
