• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Will this '08 unit fit my 2017 F3 Ltd Shifter cluster?

If you are trying to adapt & use the '08 switch gear in the bottom pic to control those functions instead of using the same controls on your '17 LH Control Cluster, then the short answer to your question is 'NO!' :lecturef_smilie:

The longer answer is 'While theoretically, anything is possible if you throw enough money at it; in this case, because the 2017 LH Control Cluster is interfaced with & essential to the successful operation of SO MANY parts/functions of your Spyder that have been modified since '08, it's extremely doubtful that fitting the '08 unit will retain all the functionality of your Spyder, and may not even let it operate at all!'

What exactly are you trying to achieve?? :dontknow:

Probably right in that; and if you thought to ask, there's probably a whole lot of others out there thinking the same thing, just not asking!

But that LH Command Module or Control Cluster is actually a whole lot more involved in the computer control of the bike's functions than you might think - the signals from many of the 'other' functions supposedly controlled elsewhere (ie. the RH Contol Cluster :p ) are actually routed thru the LH Module before being fed on to the main computers, so the LH Module in particular isn't readily 'back compatable' or vice versa!

Computer control can be good in some ways, not so good in others! :banghead:

But thanks for asking anyway - you've probably saved a bunch of others the embarrassment! :roflblack:

Seriously tho - if it's something you want to know, there's not really such a thing as a silly question! :lecturef_smilie: . Silly answers, I've got plenty; you've probably got at least a few; most have some.... but between us all, the silly answers aren't always helpful. :opps:

I kinda do wonder why I get taken to task and explinations are required when I ask a pretty simple question.
